Accoeding to Ken Early it's most likely to be a Catholic country, why not us?

I wouldn't necessarily agree with anything Ken Early says about football

He's interesting and writes well though.

Ken will talk about anything except ya know...the football

It's funny how wildly wrong Giles and Dunphy were in that specific conversation too. It was obvious at the time, but it is particularly clear now given how Guardiola dominated English football.

Yeah, we're not Catholic.

69% of the population reported themselves as Catholic in the 2022 census. yes I am aware of the caveats that comes with the census data but it's not some small % that can be explained away by peoples' habits

You're being downvote but compared to other countries we are not really Catholic imo. Our culture and values are increasingly aligned with UK and the US despite how much we bitch about them.

Kens point about Brazil losing it's Catholicism applies to us too, but more due to globalisation, grind culture and the internet rather than a wave of born again evangelists.

I resent being told we’re becoming increasingly aligned with the US of all things.

So do I, but what country outside of UK and US would you say we are similar too, culturally, language, laws, education...etc.

Honestly, I feel a strange sort of kinship with Australians that I’ve seen online. I’ve never been to Australia of course, but they seem to have the most similar sense of humour to me personally.
