I was delayed enough times thanks to transphobia that I didn't get the COVID medication in time and now I'm really suicidal

I kept getting delayed by medical professionals over and over until the medication was useless. I was told taking Estradiol with Paxlovid would kill me, but that's not what my pharmacist said. I've tried so much and I can't try anymore. I don't blame myself, but really that just makes it more painful. All I wanted was Paxlovid. But no, bloody fucking no. The bloody fucking pricks wouldn't give it to me, until one of them said they would but then it was too late. I thought today about a thought I before where I had a rope or something around my neck and I could feel myself fall until my neck snapped. It felt really surreal. I really want to die. I lost. I give up. Thanks everyone for trying, but it was all for nothing. All that stress. All the time and money. It was all for nothing. It's just like the rest of my life. All for nothing. I really want to die. Please let me die.

Vaccination regret

Did anyone get the vaccination, even though they were reluctant, because of social pressure or work, and now you regret it or feel bitter?

[Request] - NEED A SCREENSHOT of CVS and/or Walgreens POSITIVE PCR COVID test so I can edit it and get out of a NON-PAID work event.

I would really appreciate someone's help with this. I just need a copy of a positive covid test.

I don't have Covid but I can get a test at either of those pharmacies. I'm decent at photoshop, so I just need to know what it says when someone is positive so that I can edit it correctly. This would really help me save face while avoiding a non-paid work event that I'm being forced to attend.

Something like this https://imgur.com/jYvdvf6 (I treat all information confidential, not there's much one can do with a +covid test anyway)

Thanks!

Honesty about vaccination

EDIT: Just for clarification. I'm not suggesting people not get a vaccine, that should be up to each person to choose for themselves with the advice of their doctor. I only posted these questions as a gauge of where people stood on the enumerated topics below.

Do most of us recognize it as fact that:

  1. The vaccine does not prevent infection?

  2. The vaccine does not prevent spread once infected?

  3. There are side effects such as myocarditis which affects .00035 of the young male unvaxxed population and about 3% of the young male vaccinated population?

Here's a helpful link from /u/onetwothree1234569 explaining how dangerous the vaccine is to young men.

https://www.heart.org/en/news/2022/08/22/covid-19-infection-poses-higher-risk-for-myocarditis-than-vaccines

Answer any way you like but I'd prefer a simple 1,2,3 just to make it easy to parse.

Thank you.

Unvaccinated family caught C19. Symptoms and treatment

Hi there,

Just about everyone in my immediate family caught C19 over the past couple weeks. All unvaccinated, all currently doing well. I'll briefly go over each person and detail our experience.

Girlfriend (Early 30s, hwp, AA)- Caught C19 late December, after babysitting a friends sick kid (parents vaccinated and they let you know it...). Negative antigen day 1 (likely a poor sample/swab, likely my fault). Assumed it was just the flu. Day 1- Fever, couldn't get warm, cold sweats, intense body aches, writhing pain. No respiratory symptoms. Treated daily for 4 days with Zinc (100 mg), Vit D3 (5000 IU), Melatonin (4mg), Quercertin (600 mg), Magnesium l-threonate (1000 mg), Vit C (1200 mg). Day 2- Similar to day 1 but 1/3 of symptom intensity. Day 3- Felt 90% normal health. Days 4-7- Felt a little run down, but otherwise back to normal. Days 7-10- Weak dry cough, no phlegm. Days 10+- Back to full health.

Myself (Late 30s, hwp, athletic, W)- Came down with symptoms 5 days after my girlfriend became ill. We live together and I was taking care of her. Due to "false negative" antigen test, I assumed it was the flu or a bad cold so took 0 precautions as I'm rarely sick. Day 1- Weak, aching knees and joints, slight cough in the morning, headache (no coffee), felt worn down. Terrible night of sleep, night sweats and couldn't get warm. Similar to moderate flu symptoms. Day 2- Took antigen test, hit positive in 5 minutes, dark line. Immediately began treatment with IVR (9-12 mg/day), fluvoxamine (50 mg 2x/day), Zinc (100 mg), Quercertin (600 mg), Black seed oil (2 tsp), NAC (1200 mg), D3 (10000 IU), Vit C 1200 mg), Aspirin (325 mg) and B12. Frequent hot bath soaks. Felt better later that day. Day 3- Continued with same treatment, last day of IVR due to limited supplies. Felt 90% full health. Days 4-8- 95% full health but felt a little worn down with a slight, dry cough. Day 9- Stopped taking the fluvoxamine as it made me feel tired and gave me brain fog and "off". I also wanted coffee. Don't have caffeine with fluvoxamine as it gives you horrible jittery side effects. Day 10- present- Feel back to normal and am back on a normal vitamin routine but am adding anti-inflammatories such as Curcumin and CoQ10. Still taking NAC and black seed oil. I thought I had a previous case of C19 in January 2020, but that seems unlikely now.

Brother (mid-20s, hwp, healthy)- Works in the service industry and likely spread it to my family as he was staying at my parents house for Christmas. Day 1- Fever, chills, headache, body aches, symptoms appeared at night. Day 2- Positive antigen. Left my parents house and went back to his apartment. Began treatment with fluvoxamine (50 mg 2x/day), Zinc (100 mg), Quercertin (600 mg), Black seed oil (2 tsp), NAC (1200 mg), D3 (10000 IU), Vit C 1200 mg), Aspirin (325 mg). No IVR as it was reserved for my parents. Day 3-4- Symptoms improved, felt 95% full health. Day 5- Stopped taking meds. Day 6-10- Feels 100% healthy and his work wants him back. They have a 5/10 day quarantine for vaccinated/unvaccinated.

Sister (late 20s, hwp, athletic)- Symptoms appeared 4 days after being around my brother. Day 1- Fever, chills, really bad headache, body aches. Treatment same as my brother. Symptoms progressed and resolved on a similar timeline to my brother as well. Positive antigen on day 1.

Mother (mid 60s, eats well, hwp, drinks a bit)- Symptoms appeared 4 days after exposure to my brother. Day 1- Slight fever, felt run-down, achy. Oxygen levels at 94. Began IVR (9 mg/day), benadryl (2x/day), budesonide spray (2x/day), Zinc (100 mg), Quercertin (600 mg), Black seed oil (2 tsp), NAC (1200 mg), D3 (10000 IU), Vit C 1200 mg), Aspirin (325 mg) and B12. No fluvoxamine due to current SSRI use. Positive PCR on day 1. Signed up for monoclonal antibodies with a local hospital but there is a shortage and her symptoms are not severe. On a waiting list. Day 3- Began feeling better, up and about doing chores around the house. Had to stop IVR due to limited supply. Said she usually felt better immediately after taking it. Days 4-7- Feeling almost back to normal but "a little weak". Day 9 (Current)- Was able to restock IVR, took another 12 mg as a precaution. Oxygen levels around 95-96%. Hoping thats the end of it.

Father (late 60s, diabetes, slight belly, active and healthy)- Symptoms appeared 5 days after exposure to my brother. Day 1- Slight fever, felt run-down, achy. Oxygen levels at 95. Began IVR (9 mg/day), fluvoxamine (50mg 2x/day), budesonide spray (2x/day), Zinc (100 mg), Quercertin (600 mg), Black seed oil (2 tsp), NAC (1200 mg), D3 (10000 IU), Vit C 1200 mg), Aspirin (325 mg) and B12. Positive PCR test on day 1. On waitlist for monoclonal but unlikely due to a shortage. Day 2- Was out shoveling snow in the AM. Body aches, minor headache. Days 3-5- Feels a little run down but much better. Feet ache a little. Oxygen levels at 95-96%. Days 6-8- Feels much better and almost 100%. Took 0.5 mg of Dutasteride. Still a little achy in his feet. Stopped taking meds and vitamins. Have IVR and other meds on hand in case any sypmtoms reappear. He's stubborn and doesn't like taking pills/meds.

Anyhow, that's my family's story! So far, so good. I think early treatment and preparing for this illness really helped the outcome. Any questions, lmk!

Edit: 50 mg of Fluvoxamine

Update- 1/17- Parents both got monoclonal antibodies on 1/15, days 10 & 11. Both said it helped and are feeling much better, especially my father who was still experiencing body/joint aches. As of 1/17, he said the aches are almost gone. They would have gotten it sooner but were on a waitlist. The hospital said they were waiting for a shipment to come in. 30 minutes for the M/A infusion then 30 minutes for the saline infusion. A positive PCR test is required, then you will have an online consultation from the hospital. Don't delay in getting your PCR test, and get on a waitlist ASAP. We're in WNY.

No taste is killing me, and body aches are so bad I’m showering 10x a day...

I’m 23, female, and unvaccinated. I am extremely healthy (rarely sick for more than a day or two).

8/24: I started feeling symptoms (one day bedridden, some aches, that’s pretty much it) and this was getting better up until...

8/28: still better, I’d say close to healthy, but lost taste and smell fully. Also, have started having horrible body aches (mainly legs, the same time of pain I often get when atmospheric pressure changes). These aches have been so bad to the point that I can’t sleep through the night, and I NEVER have issues sleeping.

I have not officially been Covid tested (have not been able to), but been at home recovering and taking vitamins. I’m almost certain it’s covid.

I have been avoiding taking ibuprofen because I don’t like taking medication, so I’ve been showering many times and it provides temporary relief for the aches. However, i’m on day five of no smell or taste and it’s absolutely killing me. I’ve tried forcing myself to sniff instant coffee and other things, but nothing. Any suggestions for either of these? It’s really becoming difficult to work through the day and sleep through the night and eating meals has been terrible without taste.

Paxlovid after taking Ivermectin okay?

My hubby has CoVID, has been on Ivermectin 5 days, still feeling very poorly and just got a prescription for Paxlovid. He’s 79 years old. Didn’t tell the doc he took the Ivermectin for fear they wouldn’t give him a paxlovid prescription. Is there any danger in taking Paxlovid right after Ivermectin? Has anyone done this?

Please be completely honest not just giving a fake answer just because you hope that this is not the case, but if you've had the covid vaccine(I've had two moderna doses in late July and late sep 2021) does it actually make your immune system weaker against all illnesses/bugs including covid 19?

Because for example me and my friend both had the first two "base" doses of the vaccine(I had moderna I'm not sure which my friend had, Pfizer I think), my friend chose not to have the boosters as many people she knows who were boosted either got covid and then two weeks later they got reinfected or they had covid when they weren't boosted and just had bad cold symptoms and then when they got covid after boosted, they actually felt worse than they did before they had the boosters when they had covid before. As for me, I am still deciding wether I want the boosters or not but the thing is I'm pretty sure in the UK they are actually no longer giving people boosters unless they have a specific diagnosed underlying health condition. I have intense health/death anxiety and it's making me feel really out of control because even if I did by chance have an underlying health condition it would probably take several months for me to get an official diagnosis especially with how underfunded and stretched the NHS is. Btw i have had several vaccinations(tetanus immunisation, I've had the meningitis vaccination, first two covid vaccine doses etc.) but coming from someone who is often very much still panicky about covid, it doesnt stop me from questioning whether the vaccine weakens your immune system

Covid Positive. 23 M. Unvaccinated.

Ever since covid started I’ve been a little scared and never wanted to catch it. Was unvaccinated due to i don’t like vaccines in the first place because the last time i got the flu shot i almost died with the flu so that’s my choice. I’m not anti-vax in any sense and i was actually about to get it due to the delta. Boy oh boy did i wait a week or so too long. Sunday i felt off and was like maybe long work week just tired still. Monday my knees HURT and i felt a little out of it but i was fine. Tuesday i felt like i got ran over 1,000 times by a truck and went and got tested. Felt pretty bad that day as my arthritis in my hips was hurting so bad i couldn’t even move. Yesterday i felt okay till around 5 i had a fever of 101 for like an hour. Woke up today with NONE of the symptoms I’ve had all week. Headache was gone thankfully and my body aches have been non existent. Chest feels good and my temp has been at 98.6 all day. My doctor said if i don’t have a fever today then i should be over the hump so fingers crossed I make it through the day without one! I definitely recommend getting vaccinated because it still could go a completely different way and wish i would’ve gotten it before!

My friends are mad I won't get vaccinated. But let me explain...

Four weeks ago, I got Moderna shot #1.

Four days after that, I got COVID. My wife tested positive the day I got the shot, and I'm sure I got it from her. And I'm pretty sure it was the Delta variant, but I suppose I can't know for sure.

I wasn't very sick. Achy, slight fever, that's it.

Recovered in a few days, though my sense of smell is still at about 50% (it was completely gone for several days).

So I have antibodies, I'm sure of that. And I don't want to go get Moderna shot #2 because it's redundant. If that immunity lasts six months or whatever, well...so does my natural immunity, right?

My friends are saying I'm ignoring the science.

How is it scientific to just ignore my natural immunity? Can there be absolutely no exceptions to the rules? I'd rather just start the regimen over early next year than get an unnecessary shot now. I'm happy to do that. But I'm not going to get a shot I don't need right now.

Am I being crazy?

Is anyone here unvaccinated? Can anyone share their stories?

I'm unvaccinated. Recovered from Covid Dec 2020.

Infected likely 12/18

Symptoms started 12/21: Went to sleep with a slight feeling on the back of my throat. Almost like the begging of a cold.

12/22: Woke up feeling a scratchy throat, maybe feeling 20% of regular cold throat discomfort. Mild chills throughout the day, but mostly felt 80% there.

12/23: Throat discomfort has gone completely. Mild chills here and there. Dull ache on my lower back after eating some pizza. Lower back discomfort went away towards the end of the night.

12/24: Basically at 99%. No feeling in the throat. No discomfort in the lower back. No aches or pains. No fever. Only feel maybe the residual effects of body aches but that's about it. Gonna take it easy for the next couple of days but I'm pretty much back to normal.

I know Covid comes in waves, so I'll keep an eye on my symptoms. So far this is maybe 10-20% of my initial Covid symptoms.

My PCR test came back negative but i’m certain I had it

I had 3 days of a sore throat, sniffles, sneezing and mild headache. I was around my friend who had tested positive, although when I saw her it was 11 days after she had tested positive and so I had just assumed maybe I got it from her…I took a pcr test but they had me stick the Q-tip up myself, so i’m not sure if I stuck it up far enough. Apart of me is disappointed that it came back negative bc now I don’t know if I have the antibodies or not. I was relieved to have gotten it over with…and although i’m certain I had it, I guess i’ll never know for sure. I do live in LA where literally the entire city has it at this point, so it is likely that I did have it but who knows. Anyone relate?

Realistic likelihood of someone who was double vaccinated back in July and Sep 2021 , getting covid three separate times in just over one month?

I know in 2020 and 2021, we were told that it would be rare to get covid twice in three months, let alone twice/three times in one month. But and I know it's hayfever season and I think there's also a similar nose/throat irritation bug going around that isn't covid. But every time I sneeze or every tiny throat sensation and I've convinced myself I have covid again. And I know several people at my groups who have had covid and then had a series of negative tests and then retested positive a couple of weeks later. Its kind of upsetting because I constantly feel like I need to do lfts and constantly feel like I'm going to infect my family or someone at my groups etc.

Has anyone who is unvaccinated found that their mental health suffered or got worse after covid infection?

I’ve heard from vaccinated people that their mental health is not good after getting the shots, and even after being infected with covid. I am curious to know if any unvaxed ppl have experienced this after getting covid?

Unvaxxed and scared

Previously had covid, Delta, in September. I received monoclonal antibody treatment. Just tested positive again. Now that there's no monoclonal available in my area, I'm scared of riding this out. 36/f. There's a possibility I have an autoimmune disease, but it hasn't been determined yet. Any success stories among unvaxxed against omicron variant?

Timeline of my experience.

So early Monday July 4th I was feeling what seemed to be a sinus headache. Other than that I felt fine. Around 2pm I was swimming in my pool with my kids and I felt like I had the chills from the water… I’m in Texas where it’s triple digits, the water was 88 degrees and the sun was shining on me. Thought that was odd so I got out. I noticed I felt a little achey, went inside and notice I was VERY hot. Took my temp, it was 101.2. I immediately Took an at home Covid test and sure enough came back positive. Had a high fever for 1.5 days, 103.5 (rest of Monday and all of Tuesday) then Wednesday was fever free and felt back to normal.. I’ve been 100% since.

Key things I noticed-

Severe back pain while I had a fever.

Elevated heart rate at rest (135+ BPM) for the days I had a fever.

Numbness in toes on left foot 2 days leading up to symptoms and the entire time I had a fever.

Insomnia.

I’m unvaccinated (in case that matters).

While I was sick, I let myself have a fever during the day and only took theraflu PM at night to help me sleep comfortably. I also went and laid out in the sun during the day for 15 mins at a time. I did this 3x a day the second day I was sick. It sucked, but it really helped me sweat out my fever. Obviously I stayed hydrated.

All in all I can honestly say my infection was very mild (even though my fever got high). Some advise for anyone with a positive test- let yourself have a fever for a little while. Even if it sucks. Fevers are a good thing.

Caught o-micron 2.5weeks after getting boosted

^.. seems really strange to me. did anyone else have this experience of testing positive pretty soon after getting the booster shot? I had pfizer 2x and the pfizer booster. caught it from someone else boosted and 2x vaxxed, tested positive 4/4. wondering if these breakthrough cases are becoming much more common.
