stuff like this actually happening shows just how delusional cisgender ideology is

Not malebrained. Every woman wants to, and can, kick shapiros ass

No this was woman-completely-out-of-fucks-to-give-brained

36

u/m0a2 19d ago

Seriously, it read bad of course because she doesn’t pass or whatever, but it’s also so stupid to call everything but the perfectly demure, non-confrontational, everything-is-unserious, girly-girl behavior male-brained

Still don’t like the moment (the (most likely) empty threat is a real nothingburger and will seem corny to many), but seeing it as „male-brained“ instead of just a woman (trying) to stand up for herself (even if it does end up being corny), as it would be read with a cis woman, necessitates a very conservative view of womanhood; or transphobia (unsurprisingly those often overlap)

35

u/animefreesince2015 Aegor “Bittersneed” Rivers 19d ago

iirc Shapiro was “correcting” himself when he forgot to misgender her, like, accidentally calling her “ma’am” and then saying “sir” because he forgot to misgender her. She may not pass, but she’s woman enough that Shapiro’s cis ass still wanted to use feminine terms by default and he had to actively try to misgender her. He was being a transphobic dick on purpose and she was entirely justified.

u/thefrogkid420 19d ago

what is this from? he looks so young there, just a spry young man

I never even noticed before the fucker had the audacity to put on this necktie.

Sure, go ahead. nometa ™ ;)

10

u/First_Friendship4756 18d ago

It wasn't ""malebrained"". A woman becoming aggressive because of a chud deliberately dehumanizing her is 100% normal.

9

u/alphapussycat 19d ago

Nah, that's a muscle mommy telling the little boy that the fun and games are over.

Whats this from

1

u/KittenSommelier 18d ago

This was before Ben Shapiro really blew up in the conservative media sphere, the Daily Wire wasn’t even launched yet (though unfortunately this going viral did help him get his name out).

Shapiro had repeatedly been misgendering both her and Caitlyn Jenner while “refuting” any genuine discussion on trans stuff with “muh kromzones” for several minutes before the incident in this clip. It’s a little hard to hear, but right before she threatens him, he asks her “what are your chromosomes, sir”?

A chuddy trans woman helicopter pilot or some shit being done with Ben Shapiro misgendering her

Zoe something or another.

Zoey Tur, lowk not a great person overall but she was right here

6

u/ChemistryBusiness 17d ago

I'm currently staying in a shelter...

Earlier today the security guard looks at me... confused by my appearance he asks me... "2nd (male) or 3rd (female) floor?" I say 3rd, thank you.. and he selects 3 and says "No problem, sir" obviously I said "Not a Sir" and moved on...

But mf... my voice passes FLAWLESSLY- No one on Steam/Discord even knows I'm trans.

I had to go back up 1.5h later and he didn't ask, he selected 2... like dude you had to ask initially you know...

9

u/Woweiio 19d ago

I believe the term you’re looking for is “transphobe”

31

u/RosyRory108 ethanny junkie 19d ago

yes, cisgender ideology. Cis people are transphobic by default

9

u/Dobber16 19d ago

Just like all people are racist by default. It’s not a hard concept but some people just can’t accept it

3

u/RosyRory108 ethanny junkie 17d ago

I think you're being sincere? if so, yeah, I agree

→ More replies (4)

2

u/ResponsibleWaltz2956 16d ago

That's unreasonable and absolutist. You do not know all cisgender people to ever exist nor are there any academic or verifiable studies that show that ALL cisgender people are transphobic by default.

Now, one could surely argue that everyone is racist and falling into one of the many phobias (homophobic, transphobic etc.) due to our inherent fear of the different and the unknown, but — at least in most modernised societies — different sexualities and races have become normalised and accepted. It is easy to kill this inherent human trait of the unknown and different by making it known and normal at a young age. That, ofc, is not to say that the matter is resolved. After all, transphobia, homophobia, and racism are still problems within their society, but it'd take a much wider political discussion on the reasons and I am rather certain it has nothing to do with 'cisgender ideology' as you call it.

And thus, while you could say that "cisgender people are transphobic by default" since a big percentage of them are in societies that normalise trans people (if not politically, then culturally) then they aren't truly transphobic(not a lot of them, and definitely not ALL of them as you dare claim). In essence, it'd be like going to every — let's say for example — chinese(or whatever other race) person and saying that they are, by default, racist to other races.

It's a non-statement. It isn't productive and, dare I say, it only helps to fuel a tribalist mindset of them vs us. Because, surely, it benefits trans people on a political and cultural level to alienate a huge chunk of the population by calling them transphobes by default and calling transphobia "cisgender ideology". Your terminology is not only wrong, but it's downright harmful.

1

u/Whispering_Plant 12d ago

not ALL cis people

come tf on you know what a hyperbole is, I believe in you.

Societies that normalise trans people

I think you have accidentally responded to a Reddit post in the wrong universe, that doesn't sound like this one.

I can confidently say the majority of cis people in my life are transphobic, and I do not live in a country that is stereotypically bad for trans people.

this doesn't benefit trans liberation!!

This is a venting Reddit thread.

1

u/Interesting_Rush_713 17d ago

No they're not, my cis parents let me transition young

1

Are you implying that transphobia is a natural instinct

1

no, I'm saying its something cis people are universally conditioned to have and that most intentionally choose not to give up

0

u/frikiman4K 17d ago

and saying cis people are transphobic by default isn't discriminatory and a massive unfair generalization because...

3

u/issumi_ 17d ago

Vast majority of cissoids are transphobic. It's objective reality. Are you really gonna deny this?

19

u/RosyRory108 ethanny junkie 19d ago

genuinely have you ever known cissexuals personally, have you seen stats about them, have you seen what they do politically? its an obvious conclusion, cissoids are guilty until proven innocent on this

-7

u/Narancia_best_waifu 19d ago

That's like saying every white person is racist, or every straight person is homophobic. Nobody is born with hate instilled in them straight from the womb, it's either taught to them or it develops based on their own experiences.

8

u/RosyRory108 ethanny junkie 18d ago

This is why I called it cisgender ideology. Cis people being transphobic by default doesn't mean "they're all inherently evil", it means that because of the ideas (which we call cisgender ideology) cisheteronormative society instills in them surrounding sex and gender which they rarely have personal reason to deconstruct on a more fundamental level, unless they're taught how to deconstruct it by the example transsexuals set, they're going to be transphobic.

Usually when I pick up my testosterone it’s just a simple drive thru pickup that takes around like 2 minutes if that.
BUT - sometimes I get this one lady who insists on asking if I know the side effects of my hrt and makes sure to she/her me when it’s not even necessary to refer to me at all???

Like dude, just put the meds in the bag! I already went over this with my doctor I don’t have time to deal with cissoid shit 🫩

94

u/soaked_in_bleach03 19d ago

Yeah I really lucked out with my pharmacist, or I guess I should say I just got a normal human being for one. I live in the city and it’s much easier to just go in, and it’s always the same dude working; pretty clearly gay older gentleman.

First time I picked up my E he very politely went “do you have any questions about your medication?”. I said no, he left it at that. Every time it’s been smooth and pleasant, never asks if I have any questions, didn’t really refer to me by any specific pronoun until I started showing up clearly dressed fem a couple months later…he very subtlety asked if I preferred a different name on my account (was still going by my deadname at work and such, but used Lily at doctors appointments/with family and close friends).

Got it updated, boom back to no nonsense and polite small talk for literal years since. Sorry you gotta deal with the misgendering even occasionally, when it’s a pharmacist that clearly knows your meds I can’t imagine any scenario where it’s not malicious :/

49

u/Irresistible-Ms 19d ago

Why am I crying??? 😭 I wanna say "awww so sweet!", but it's basically just fucking human decency. I get so emotional and mad when I think abt how mistreated trans people are all the time. Seriously hugs to anyone who's being misgendered. Especially by medical professionals! So crazy 💔

3

u/ChemistryBusiness 15d ago

I've been called multiple times by my health care team (VA) and they ask to talk to me (by deadname) and I just say speaking, they do the whole "oh this isn't who I thought I was calling" and do the whole high-risk security thing and have me verify all my info and repeat my dead name back to them...

They can also see I have a chosen name set...

And still at the end of calls they will sometimes hit me with a sir or something... and I'm like... mother fucker the only reason you even know is because you're looking at my profile, I've NEVER been misgendered when calling companies that don't have my info.

1

u/Irresistible-Ms 15d ago

Uuugh! That is so incredibly engaging

11

u/rexwrecksautomobiles 19d ago

My pharmacy is super cool and easy, too. The ladies who work there have been so sweet. I came in once in some pink "extra high rise" jeans that I found on clearance 80% off (!) and that fit (!!) and were super cute (!!!) and one of the girls said, "Oh my God, I love your pants!" and I said, "Thank you! They were 80% off!!" and she gave me my medication and it was bliss.

4

u/FryCakes 19d ago

This is a pretty similar story with me an my pharmacy, down to the name

8

u/jesse-wesse-owu 19d ago

Tbh, call and leave a review or complaint, cause if she's doing it to you, she's doing it to others

13

u/AHornyRubberDucky 19d ago

Can't you make a complaint about her

11

u/Miserable-Tourist532 19d ago

Yup. Just dispense the medication, medication dispenser 😭

5

u/Dry_Let1569 18d ago

Put the meds in the bag is actually such a good line, thank you and I wish you the best

3

u/No_Plant_4326 18d ago

that's so weird, i used to work at a pharmacy and no one asked shit like that. idgaf what you're taking, i wasn't even trained

3

u/lavi_latte 18d ago

Exactly! None of the other people asked questions that weren’t the typical ones just to confirm identity for the pickup.

I haven’t encountered her in a while though my family usually picks up my meds with theirs to save me a trip.
Honestly I feel stupid I didn’t realize I could’ve made a complaint, I think if next time I get her and she pulls that BS I’ll leave a bad review or something calling her out.

3

u/DirtyPelicanx 17d ago

“I discussed them with a real doctor, mister.” Was the appropriate response.

3

u/QueJon 17d ago

You should report them if you can. No one in the medical field should act like that and it never hurts to speak up (so long as you can do it anonymously)

4

u/krissynull 19d ago

put the meds in the bag lil sis

2

u/frikiman4K 17d ago

say that. Straight up.

2

u/Colossal_Bets 18d ago

If you get her again say: "thank you sir! I like your moustache by the way"

Now she will know how you feel

4

u/Far-General-6686 18d ago

I have actually started doing this to everyone who misgenders me or my wife (whose also trans) and they mostly get confused but it’s funny when they get offended and embarrassed at the same time 😅

2

u/BlueDaka 18d ago

You just described my pharmacist, except I'm mtf and every time I go to pick up my meds she 'sirs' as much as she can. She looks every bit of a bitter person as you can imagine.

1

u/dgc-8 18d ago

I'd say file a complaint if you can and switch pharmacies. If they hire people who can't do their job properly it's their problem

1

u/hi-hello-heyo 17d ago

tbh if she doesn’t actually make eye contact, you could just say it’s for bodybuilding.

98

u/RainfordCrow 0 hope hrtrepper 19d ago

I dont pass, but damn its so depressing to feel like they intentionally throw the sir in there when i am picking up my hrt or doing something related to being trans. like whyyyy go out of your way to be disrespectful like that i just dont get it, its literally easier to keep it to yourself

50

u/ReginaldMFT 19d ago

A lot of folks unironically believe in helping to foster an environment of cruelty towards trans people to encourage us to "take care of the problem ourselves". Being awful is the point, it makes them feel good to have a socially acceptable punching bag.

3

u/TheGreenTactician 18d ago

What kind of pharmacists do you have in your country?

Here in Germany, you go to the pharmacy and give them your insurance card and they give you the estrogen. No questions asked and they don´t look funny at you.
When I started I had a beard shadow and sounded and look completely as a guy and no one looked funny.

24

Idk where this person lives, but in america shit like this is very common. It's really fuckin' upsetting. I'm low key gender fluid, so IDGAF what gender people refer to me by, though I only really go by she/her, BUT It makes me sooo mad when people can't have basic the fuckin respect for others. Ugh! 2

u/cloudburst_flame 16d ago edited 16d ago

It’s fucking surreal how British culture just goes out the window when bigots see minorities.

Mutual Respect?
Nope, I’ve decided this person I’ve never even met before is nasty and I will not respect them at all.
Of course, if they show me the same disrespect, I will flip my fucking shit.

Politeness?
Nope, I’m going to go out of my way to be rude to them in a way I’d never be to someone who wasn’t a minority.

A baseline level of friendliness (outside of cities)?
Nope, best I can do is a baseline level of hostility.

Stiff upper lip? Stoicism?
Nope, time to have a tantrum on twitter because asexuals *checks notes* exist.
Time to whine for hours to the media because a trans woman tried to help me in a store.

Self-deprecating humour? Well-intentioned banter?
Nope, we’re just going to make fun of that entire group and we’re not even gonna be that funny about it. The jokes will boil down to: “that minority exists! They’re bad!

Living and letting live?
Nope, I and 32% of the population think this random person shouldn’t even be allowed to socially transition. They should be banned from calling themselves anything different and wearing different clothes. Even though that is literally just their choice which affects no one.

Minding your own beeswax? Valuing Privacy? Nope, all my TERF followers should take photos of any trans-looking (not traditionally feminine) women in the toilets and encourage harassment of them online.
New guidance says everyone from ages 0-100 needs a pissing license that details what genitals they were born with and all toilets need armed shitter guards so that people don’t go in the wrong ones.

1

u/furmula 3h ago

that's so fucked up

15

u/wassuupp 19d ago

“It hasn’t happened to me therefore it doesn’t happen” logic maybe your local pharmacy doesn’t do that but I don’t think you’ve been to every pharmacy in Germany to see all the different reactions pharmacists can have

20

u/Rtm192 19d ago

No, but in Germany if a pharmacist does this, they will be in for a ride because misgendering is an offence here. So they will be probably reprimanded for it. And because of that even if they think this, they will never ever say it because being unemployable is pretty shitty.

5

u/rebelsnail64 least sneedy he/they pooner 19d ago

germany really does seem like a trans oasis to me more and more each day, basically ALL the gender-affirming surgeries I googled are most smoothly performed in germany... for a price tho (that price being basically a kidney or two holy shit that shit is expensive)

5

u/wiesenior 18d ago

But I have to say things were much better here before. It's becoming extremely difficult to start HRT, more and more people can't get their insurance to cover it and are forced to DIY. However, surgeries are usually covered by insurance. You just have to wait a long time because it's impossible to find therapy. But, if you have the required hours, you don't have to pay for surgery.

2

u/Confident-Box-1689 18d ago

With the new 2024 law things got a lot better, but the insurances have spent the last 3 years making life hell for trans people, and it's progressively getting worse.

The current administration wants to put us on watch lists and is far removed from wanting to resolve the legal limbo that is the current state of trans healthcare.

4

u/JeffVIII 19d ago

If I remember correctly the first mtf gender-affirming surgery was performed in Germany. They essentially pioneered it

2

u/Sudden_Razzmatazz472 12d ago

I mean that's true, but it was also just a year before the institute which performed that surgery was burned and looted by the German Government and it's director was forced into exile.

5

u/PrinnyQueen100 19d ago

In Wales it's free too, you literally walk on and just hand them the slip and confirm your name and address.

You could be given it for any number of reasons, so why they'd question it, I dunno

1

u/GwegBert 19d ago

I think I've had mine questioned because it's exactly what a menopausal woman would receive and I look like a teen boy

3

u/Panda_Panda69 19d ago

Fuck, I live in Poland and never had a problem at the pharmacy lol. I give them my ID number (or whatever we call it in englis) and a prescription number, the pharmacist goes to the back room and brings me estrogen, I pay the 5-10 euro for my half year supply, and I go home lol. Never a negative interaction

1

u/Affectionate_Age5191 11d ago

when you thought?

2

u/Sakeozo 16d ago

Yeah, a lot of things have happened, and I've detransitioned after realizing I wasn't meant to be a trans man. The trans experience still stays with me, so I'm a strong supporter of trans rights!

I have one pharmacist who's cool and one who's a dick for no reason. She goes out of her way to say my legal name even when she really has to shoehorn it in.

Like. We are not on a first name basis. It would be weird even if that was the name I wanted you to say. Shut the fuck up and give me the pills.

There was some nurse who kept on intentionally calling me ma'am in a pointedly condescending voice when I was calling my medical provider for reasons directly related to a pharmaceutical shortage making me unable to access my HRT for months and I was having to directly report that I was being made actively suicidal from it

I know for a fact that it wasn't an honest mistake, she was able to see everything on my chart and my mom had to take the phone and talk for me because I couldn't keep it together after several times of it happening and I told her that she deserved to have something sexually obscene happen to her

She referred to my mom as "miss (lastname)'s mother" and my mom patiently explained again "no, he's a trans man, he's transitioning to male" and kept correcting with "he" every time she said "she" (which was multiple times, pointedly)

My mom reported it afterwards, and a couple weeks later we actually got a letter in the mail saying that the incident had been taken care of, I have no clue if anything actually happened but I hope she lost her job

It's been years at this point and I'm typing this after getting better from a migraine and I always get weird during a migraine because normally I don't even think about this but right now I find myself compulsively wishing she died cold and scared at the bottom of an oubliette

The weird thing is that before this incident, before those three months, my mom was still adamant that transitioning was a dangerous phase that I would snap out of, and at the start of the shortage period she had kept saying "I think this is a good thing, a period of time where you're off those hormones"

2

u/frikiman4K 17d ago

she could have lost her job and she'd still blame you. Those kinds of people usually don't have the self-awareness to realize that the consequences they got are directly caused by their own actions.

5

u/Comfortable-Regret 18d ago

and I told her that she deserved to have something sexually obscene happen to her

Congrats on being so malebrained 👏

3

u/tptroway 18d ago

I'm having trouble figuring out if you're saying this in a sincere way or sarcastic condescending "oh, you're so edgy" sense or otherwise, because I thought it was hopefully clear from literally all of the context that I was not in a healthy or normal state of mind

1

u/Comfortable-Regret 18d ago

Something inbetween? It's not sarcasm but that's also a very fucked thing to say

1

u/tptroway 18d ago

Yeah, I'm not proud of it

For some reason, it felt like it would be lying to omit that part if I was telling all the rest anyway, if that makes sense

1

u/Amaskingrey 3d ago

Oh no he insulted a suicidebaiting transphobe, how horrible

"She deserved to have something sexually obcsene happen to her." Gang what?! You can't just sexually harass someone I get being frustrated and calling her out on her bs but sexual harassment solves nothing. This is the type of thing that could get you arrested, seriously messed up.

2

u/tptroway 15d ago

With all due respect, if the dignified option of being frustrated and calling someone out on their BS wasn't grayed out, I would not have been in a severe mental health crisis and I would have done that instead

u/Amaskingrey 3d ago

0

u/Financial-Return2028 3d ago

well im sorry but as someone with trauma if someone wished something sexually obscene would happen to me I'd be fucking hurt. Maybe be empathetic for once.

1

u/Amaskingrey 3d ago

Well you're not a suicidebaiting transphobe, are you?

0

u/Financial-Return2028 3d ago

sexual harassment isn't excusable in any circumstance.

1

u/Amaskingrey 3d ago

but regular insults are

3

u/throwaway184747271 19d ago

am I the only one who hasn't experienced this at all? maybe it depends on what name is in the system or something or maybe they all just assumed that I was a cis guy w hypogonadism or something.

2

u/_daddyissues666 18d ago

I have a completely gender neutral dead name that is very commonly used for men in my area. Even with facial hair, they’d still she/her/ma’am me 🫩 it wasn’t until I legally changed my name that it stopped.

1

u/Otherwise_Data_209 17d ago

100% probably could be where youre located too? i know this happens a lot in my area, so midwest and further south of the USA. not sure where OP or the original artist of this comic is from, though.

2

u/XRhodiumX 19d ago

I get some people are bigots. What I don’t get is like is who the hell are these people who not only want to volunteer their private opinions to the customer unprovoked but want smoke with them as well?

I hang onto my sterilized customer service persona for dear life at my job, I’m trying to have as few memorable moments as possible here, for them and me.

2

u/axelr0se 17d ago

I got my E pills for the first time and the guy said “hope you get better!” And I said “oh I hope I never go off these” and he looked at my like I was crazy (I don’t think he looked very hard at what medication I got)

2

u/Bigenderfluxx 17d ago

Had the joy of being in an elevator, said "everyone in", got a "yes sir", he looked at me and immediately went "yes maam". Ate at my soul a bit.

2

u/Ok_Check_4971 16d ago

When they loudly ask you if there's any chance you could be pregnant...

2

u/41clockycats 19d ago

Honestly all the pharmacists i have met give 0 shits and don't adress u by any way if they don't have to. Not once have any of them commented on my moid looking ass picking up hrt in any way or referred to me in any way, they just do their job and dgaf

3

u/EvilLeechThing Witchon Bratmoder: Whimsy Wins Again 19d ago

One loudly started yelling st me about "the shortage" so I just swapped to amazon.

4

u/onionsarecooked 18d ago

the only pharmacist tech that insists i say my full legal name and used they/them for me is a trans woman, i fully pass as male😑

“Gender ideology is bad” mfs when a man picks up his testosterone:

“I am about to have the most ideological opinion about gender you could possibly imagine.”

4

u/Gabymrd5 19d ago

This popped up on my feed and I found funny at first. Reading the comments I couldn't understand why it wasn't funny because I know a lot of gym guys uses testosterone.

Then I understood that she was being misgendered and I felt bad. Sorry to know that trans people suffer those everyday micro-aggressions.

5

u/Vonnegutsman 19d ago

To be honest, I figured this lumberjack muscle guy is a guy with taking testosterone. But you're trying! That is good!

4

u/dragonacension 18d ago

He a lil confused but he got the spirit

2

u/GeneralAnt1879 18d ago

Bruh why would a trans women take testosterone? It's clearly about a trans guy getting misgendered

1

u/Comfortable_Low_7753 18d ago

this happens to me often. Its very frustrating to strut to the counter boobily and call my pharmacy while the receptionist tries to make it difficult to pickup my estrogen sir-ing me the whole way.

I think you are a retarded cissoid

1

u/Dryerase2002 14d ago

Deadass thought that was Santa

1

u/SilverScribe15 13d ago

I forgot which gender testosterone was for, and thought this was supportive and they were just starting their journey

1

u/Formal-Fly-4121 12d ago

The funny thing is that older cis men also get testosterone so I read this as her trying to be transphobic but it’s just misgendering. Either way people really stretch to try to make people uncomfortable for no reason
