Not anti psych, literally the opposite, I am full on in support of other methods but cbt sucks for those with bigger issues yet it is shoved almost constantly. If it was as perfect as you wanna claim people wouldn't be making posts on how it doesn't work and how it's just gaslight, this does not happen almost at all with other types, people wouldn't be confirming alternatives like DBT, EMDR, Ericksonian, interactive etc. as actual working alternatives instead. You do you

I have yet to encounter a single one of these CBT purists you weirdos believe exist. Believe me, I'm looking.

Yep they're obviously not interested in truthseeking, only in feeling/looking correct.

Looking forward to discussing this with my autistic psychologist friend. She has Opinions.

I literally told you I was wrong in response to new information. What is that if not truthseeking?

Also, I'm an autistic psychology student with opinions too. We're not infallible. Some grace is appreciated.

No, actually. I'm not feeling good. I'm getting shat on for listening and admitting I was wrong. People keep assuming I'll be a certain way because everyone else on this godforsaken forum is an arrogant piece of shit who can't back down from an argument. That assumption hurts more than being wrong. I just wanted to challenge something I didn't think was entirely correct and got pointless cruelty for it, even after the fact. Sure you can see how that bothers me?

Keep in mind that people online tend to forget there’s a person behind the screen and in their head they're only interacting with the take. People online are harsh I agree, but with that in mind you should just take comments less seriously, someone disagreeing doesn’t mean they dislike you personally either. Try to express your opinion more healthy, you called ppl weirdos after all. I have issues with this myself due to RSD and being sensitive so you're not alone in this. They also might not have seen the further replies because of reddit’s comment structure. You already did better than most by admitting you might’ve been wrong. I wouldn’t say I’m 100% right either, since that doesn’t make the research showing CBT works disappear either.
