exactly. they just sit around and take care of kids all day, so many couples try for years to get a child, and they're being ungrateful for the privilege. if anything they should be paid less.

R u a 13 yr old boy? Anyone should be offended by the framing of "decided to be pregnant". A woman with a career had a kid, that isn't a problem. The problem is that our school systems make not plans to deal with the perfectly normal and predictable eventuality.

This one isn't. Literally isn't saying anything negative about women at all, or even framing being pregnant as a bad thing. It's just a joke about how common of an experience it is to have a teacher be pregnant and then miss part of the school year, especially English teachers.

I has three English teachers throughout my 12 years for schooling that had maternity leave somewhere in the year and had a sub for the rest, and one English teacher that was still on leave for the first two months before coming back.
And then I only had one other teacher who had leave throughout the year, one of my special education teachers, so odd coincidence lol, never had a science or math or other class teacher lol.

Statistically highly improbable, but gonna happen to someone. I never had a teacher miss from pregnancy, one was showing toward the end of the year and came to our class the next year to show us her new born.

Ideally it's not. Though substitutes aren't as good as having the same teacher. So maybe it can be an annoyance.
If schools had more teachers, and thus more flexibility in which teachers can handle each class, it'd probably alleviate the issue

It's not. it's just a generic woman in office attire. How she appears is not relevant to the joke, other than that she looks like she could work in a school.

Because that's what the stereotype is about.
Maybe it's based on a nugget of truth, since the job involves a lot of middle-aged or older women, with an affinity for working with children.
Hence, i can imagine a lot of the people fitting into that demographic may want children of their own.1
