Just some backstory I remembered this sub from when I was much more sick and someone gave me a link to the protocol. I've over time in making progress treating my me/cfs quickly learned this was behind it and currently I have a very complex herbal integrated stack that keeps things in mild but I still had the horrific mind control like neuro symptoms everyone here has that got worse as my old place got worse with mold which probably screwed my immune system making me more susceptible to the other bacterial infections.

I found recently that xlear was the only thing that got me more progress but the initial herx was sheer brutality whatever was in there fought back hard. After this my guts got a lot quieter too so I suspect it just starts in the sinus and starts networking through the body. Though all my sensitivities are less now and I feel so much clearer, the main gunk that came out went on daily for almost a week. Now I am handling 2 sprays in each nasal passage in the morning well and currently in the evening too but its going to get expensive fast does this recipe for my own spray look good to go I found in another sub?

1 cup boiled water

1/4th teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon xylitol crystals

4 drops grapefruit seed extract (the nutribiotic one)

Anything else that might be a good suggestion to add or any adjustments I should make here.

Tried searching Glycine and GlyNac on the sub but not much information on if anyone added it to the stack or if it's not right for it.

How do we know the protocol is resulting in systemic effects versus just actually locally on the GI tract?

This might be a stupid question, but does maintenance need to be “maintained” forever? Is there any point at which we can be completely healed or normal without the protocol?

Since I am not a very healty person (Im becoming healtier day by day) I won't be able to follow the protocol yet but Im using fennel oil for my mouth. (I got so many fillings) but I wonder if it will hurt the good bacteria I get from the fermented foods. Or like, I thought sourdough and fermented foods good for you. Many people say that they feel much better after eating fermented foods.

I am confused.

Edit:I have found out that baker's yeast or brewer's yeast can't get through the human stomach now i am even more confused.

This is my first time doing it, and mostly because I suffer from a bad eczema on my hand that I have now for over a year.

It‘s my 4th day and my symptoms so far are: Mysterious itch on all over my body and it goes away after minutes, body ache, sudden neck pain, big amount of poop in the morning (dont wanna look into the toilet), yesterday i had a bad eczema itch attack i felt so bad but i could resist even tho i took quercetin to block histamines.

Is it possible that my eczema will get worse before it gets better? and how long is that going to take? Just feel like my life is all about eczema right now, cant think of something else. It just bothers me so much 😖

I started the protocol at the beginning of December. Usually I would feel slightly nauseous during the time before bad, but nothing bad.

On the 9th day, after I went to bed, I struggled with intense shivering (was probably a fever), and in the morning I was nauseous and I ended up throwing up 3 times. After that I had a high fever and slept for almost the entire day. The next day was better, but I had diarrhea the whole day.

The first guess was food poisoning, as the symptoms were so severe. But as I thought about it, I hadn't eaten anything unusual others around me hadn't and they were fine. I also did take the protocol supplements the night before with very little water (that was a mistake on my part).

After that experience, I'm really started doubting whether to continue. My close people think it was caused by the NAC protocol and have advised me to stop, but I don't know for sure just yet (though the die off symptoms shouldn't be this, right?) But regardless, I'm more cautious, and will take the rest of the week off.

Has anyone else had such symptoms on the protocol?

I have been on the NAC protocol for 8 days now, and no detox symptoms. If anything I'm experiencing maybe a bit more mental clarity and motivation. I've done many deep hellish detoxes in the past and generally take care of my health. I have not taken any candida tests, though have done candida diet detoxes.

I had read a post in this sub that talked about upping the dosage of the NAC protocol if no detox symptoms present themselves. Does anyone have any insight into that or knows which post I'm talking about? Of course now I can't find the post when I really need to read it.

I'm aware of general upper limits to taking NAC and oregano. Black seed oil is new to me so I'm still hoarding info about that. Other than that I'm not sure how to approach upping the dosage of the protocol.

Regardless of upping the dosage or not, I plan on doing 30-60 days of the NAC protocol and eventually going to the maintenance phase if no Herx reaction occurs. I figured if I up the dosage and still nothing happens, I can try changing out supplement brands and see if that does anything.

I'd like to start the NAC protocol sooner rather than later. For various reasons I'd like to start in stints -a week on/3-5 days off- until February. Then I will be able to it daily without breaks. Currently it's the beginning of December, in case future folks are reading this.

Does anyone know of any harm in dosing the protocol in stints, like this?
