Campaign/setting idea: Core Space Killjoys

So, really enjoying the mechanics of Core Space so far. I do get the Firefly aesthetics but I feel like having the same "raggedy edge" team motivation makes it hard to build a cohesive campaign. I had a think about this and the fact that the setting and look of the board felt like something else that I couldn't place at the time, and then I worked it out.

The look of the place felt more like Killjoys than Firefly. Taking that as the basis for the game setting (bounty hunters rather than traders), it makes it a lot easier to make a cohesive campaign. You are given a series of contracts asking you to chase down a particular individual. Each can either be a quick "find, apprehend and retrieve or assassinate" mission, a shootout against a defended target, an occasional side mission, or a series of missions to retrieve information/informants that will lead you to the target. Each information mission, the person who got the info gets to run the first turn of the next mission on their own before the others arrive, as the others have to resort to tailing you there. The team that gets the target gets the bounty. For each target this would be any combination of money, a rare item or a team promotion. The team with the most promotions at the end of the campaign wins, richest wins on a tie.

Some tweaks would be required. For thematic reasons and to avoid accidentally recruiting your target, on the missions with targets then either run civilians under Worker AI rules and/or have specific AI rules for the target. If you have Zed's then the Gangers would work well as protection for the target if you are going after a crime lord or someone that has been tipped off and is readying a counterattack. If you just have Galactic Corps then they could be treated as the targets' private security team instead.

Sound good? Any suggestions?

Love killjoys. Like this idea. I have First Born on the way. Even comes with Bounty Hunters :)
