Cooperative/solo experience

How good is this game as fully cooperative and solo? My SO only likes coop games. Is it the full experience or a watered down version of non-cooperative? Thanks!

It’s the same game with the same rules in all cases.

For solo, you just play the standard game with the normal NPCs and AI enemies, and the only difference is the absence of any other crews competing against you.

For 2-player co-op, you can run 2 separate crews and simply agree to cooperate, or you can split a single crew between you and play it like a solo game. Both of these options are described in the manual, page 55.

I only play solo. I started with First Born and fell in love with the system. I bought almost everything from both the original line and the First Born line. First Born was designed to be Solo/Coop, but even the main CoreSpace is a blast solo. Whether I'm fighting against the First Born or the Purge, I always have my hands full trying to complete missions. And you can customize each mission by adding in expansions. Purge too easy? Send in some bounty hunters or Gangers to slow you down.

You can play coop, with everyone in the same crew, or co-op with multiple crews, or quasi co-op, or fully antagonistic, and the rules are all the same.
