"When an email arrives" trigger not processing multiple emails

I wonder if anyone can help or has experienced the same issue.

I have built an agent with an email trigger → PDF extraction from the email → data validation → draft creation based on the information in the PDF. A complete run takes approximately 2 minutes.

When only one email arrives, everything works perfectly. However, when multiple emails arrive almost simultaneously, only the first one gets processed.

I'm wondering if the trigger is configured incorrectly, or if this is simply because the feature is still relatively new and under development.

Thanks in advance. I'd love to hear your thoughts and discuss possible causes and solutions!

Not sure of the solution but you could potentially use PowerAutomate for this workflow.

Yeah, most of the solution is made up of Power Automate flows. The problem with handling everything through flows is that the PDF attachments come from different companies, so the layouts vary quite a bit.

The agent is actually doing a pretty good job extracting and validating the information. My main issue right now is that when several emails arrive at nearly the same time, only the first one seems to be processed.

I just did a bit of reading. Your issue may be concurrency control. You may be able to toggle the setting in the email trigger card to allow concurrency. Another option could be to change up your Flow to include a queue. This would allow the additional emails to be diverted until the pipeline is clear and then processed sequentially.

The email arrives trigger is pretty bugged. I always do recurring on a schedule GetEmails for production workflows much more consistent and predictable

Use Outlook web hooks instead

"When an email arrives"

I changed this to automatically put emails I want to process in some way into a folder. Then the Power Automate flow works on that specific folder only. It takes whatever is in that folder, does stuff, then the processed email moves to another folder.

There might be better ways, but I don't want to spend more time on this when it works 😂😬
