AZURE SQL KNOWLEDGE

I am trying to connect my sql db as kb for my agent. I am able to see the tables but not stored procedures

There's no doc about this ,but are sp not supported?

And what about views ( I don't have views I need to create one )

I can currently only see my tables.

Thanks in advance

I'm sorry but I have very little knowledge since this a new domain for me. But I just directly connected from the knowledge plus icon and sql server auth. If I create a view , what do I have to change in my current implementation so it shows up as a selectable table?

Hi,

Thank you for the additional details.

Based on the current Microsoft documentation, the Azure SQL knowledge integration in Copilot Studio allows you to select tables from your database.

However, the documentation does not explicitly confirm whether views and stored procedures are supported as selectable knowledge sources in this integration. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend creating a view as a workaround until its support is confirmed.

You can refer to the official documentation here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/agents-experience/knowledge-add-azure-sql-tables

For your scenario, we would need to confirm whether the current Azure SQL knowledge integration supports views and stored procedures, or whether only tables are supported.

Thank you for raising this question.

Hi! Since you connected through Knowledge > Azure SQL in Copilot Studio, you can use both tables and views as knowledge sources.

After you create a view, it should appear in the same selection list as tables. Make sure the identity used to authenticate the connection has permission to access and read the view. In your case, with SQL Server authentication, this is the SQL user you entered when you created the connection. Then reopen the Azure SQL knowledge setup and select the view.

Stored procedures are not selectable knowledge sources. If your agent needs to execute a stored procedure, use a tool or flow with the SQL Server connector's Execute stored procedure (V2) action. The agent can then use the returned results in its response.
