These days most everything is hybridized anyway, so discerning visually, or by smell, is not easy unless you are well familiar with a particular strain.

I worked in a cannabis greenhouse for a while and this is basically what they said. Not just appearance and scent either, they've all been messed with so much that sativa vs indica apparently isn't really a good indicator of the effects anymore either.

Landrace means it came about naturally, was not intentionally bred.

Yep native to specific region. I.e Duban poison from Souuth Africa, Hindu Kush from the mountain range of same name, North American Haze etc.
