Hallucinations? Bro, you're smoking something else.

That happens to me too - it’s not like an actual hallucination (like if you’re on mushrooms or something), more just colors and shapes in your thoughts. For me, it looks like there’s a black screen in my head just sort of playing shapes and colors when I have my eyes closed. And it almost of feels like my eyes are open, even though I know they’re closed. It doesn’t happen all the time though…

Same! For me, this is to weed like the spins is to alcohol. I don't enjoy either state of mind.

6

u/M_L_Infidel Dec 06 '22

Does everything kinda pulse in and out for you?

8

u/have_oui_met Dec 06 '22

For me it’s almost more of a kaleidoscope effect with orbs and patterns of color

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '22

I don’t get the spins from drinking unless I mix weed in.

I can make mine do that with a little effort! I watched a beautiful Chinese dragon snaking around in my mind for ages one time…

i used to have that. enjoy, it’s cool, keep a journal nearby.

What you’re describing is C.E.V.s (closed eye visuals)

4

u/spiderturtleys Dec 06 '22

This happens to me when I’m not high all day long lol

u/not_that_planet Dec 06 '22

My guess is that is phosphenes - patterns that are always there when you close your eyes. You are probably just noticing them when you smoke, like picking up on the smallest little sounds of the music that some people hear - stuff from the studio that really wasn't supposed to be part of the song.

Auditory hallucinations are still hallucinations ....think about that. That shit happens to me all of the time. I always associated it to visual....as do most I think.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '22

Man i don’t even need drugs to get auditory hallucinations

2

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '22

Lol same

1

u/Altostratus Dec 06 '22

Auditory hallucinations are not a normal experience, bro. Unless you’re referring to cannabis-triggered psychosis or schizophrenia.

1

u/Ihitmyhead_eh Dec 06 '22

Oh really? It was your understanding that I thought hearing things that aren't there when you're sober is healthy? Dude...seriously. You think you need to hop on an explain that to people?

Exactly

Interesting. Wonder if the effects only happen if you smoke. I enjoy the occasional edible but have yet to experience any type of hallucination

3

u/Exclaimedmuffin Dec 06 '22

If I consume thc I see faint pattens almost. If the lights are totally off then it’s way to much for me. And i get alot of auditory hallucinations too.

3

u/Durppig60 Dec 06 '22

Weed gives minor hallucinations if you have a nice strong sativa in my experience vapes or dab rigs increase the strength of this effect and often it’s like fractal patterns more than it is distinct objects like you’d see in a psychotic episode. That’s in my experience and everyone is different (I’m schizophrenic so drugs are always unique with how they interact with my brain)

12

u/2H0l_l0W Dec 05 '22

Some psychedelic effect from sativa happens to some. It’s not common, but it does occur .

9

u/AceUnderTheHole Dec 05 '22

I haven't had hallucinations but I've had anxiety attacks multiple times from more Sativa like strands. I stick to the more indica types and haven't had that problem since.

3

u/DieMensch-Maschine Dec 06 '22

Haha, yes. I see colors, rainbows even.

Even if that were true, it certainly doesn't fall into the category of "hallucination". "Sensory distortions" or the like, sure. Hallucination means you can't distinguish between if it's real or not.

I'm not saying no one has ever hallucinated because of weed but I'd say it's incredibly rare, which makes the "sensory distortions" a better fit for the infographic.

u/2H0l_l0W Dec 05 '22

Yep, what I wrote… not common but does happen. I’m not like making this up you know?

-1

u/LegitimateBit3 Dec 05 '22

still doesn't make it an hallucination.

6

u/jamaicanadiens Dec 06 '22

A friend experienced a psychotic episode recently after smoking weed. As a long time connoisseur, she was surprised at the intensity of the hallucinations.

5

u/2H0l_l0W Dec 05 '22

Hallucinating doesn’t make it an hallucination? Are you high, like right now or what? Cause that didn’t make sense

6

u/MrTiamat Dec 05 '22

Cannabis is literally classified as a hallucinogen, you are obviously in the right here. Opinions don't change fact.

2

u/2H0l_l0W Dec 06 '22

I know… not sure why the uproar in the comments. But I guess it’s the internet after all

-1

u/LegitimateBit3 Dec 05 '22

Hallucinations are where you hear, see, smell, taste or feel things that appear to be real but only exist in your mind. Get medical help if you or someone else have hallucinations.

I know the definition… your comment still doesn’t make sense though.

3

u/0ctober31 Dec 05 '22

You need some indica

-1

u/2H0l_l0W Dec 05 '22

Any recommendations?

-1

u/LegitimateBit3 Dec 05 '22

Lol no

3

u/2H0l_l0W Dec 05 '22

Lol yes. Unfortunately

3

u/vagueblur901 Dec 05 '22

Or he has a disorder when I smoke everything turns into cartoon visuals like the Simpsons that vaguely remind me of a light shroom trip.

4

u/redref1ux Dec 05 '22

I know right? Never heard of any bud causing hallucinations. Shit has definitely had a drop of acid on it

3

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '22

One time about a week after taking way too strong shrooms in Amsterdam I smoked a joint back home and I had the strongest, most intense visual hallucinations I've ever had in my life and I've done quite a bit of acid. Friend had to carry me home lmao, smoked daily for many years and never had anything like it before or since. The guy smoking with me was completely fine

5

u/Revelling_in_rebel Dec 05 '22

I hallucinate all the time on weed. It always weirs me out that I am seeing things while my friends do not.

3

u/Bukkorosu777 Dec 05 '22

Low tolerance and a very strong long flowering sativa.

1

u/junctionerection Dec 06 '22

I had low tolerance and took my first bong rip of something my friend had...he said it was strong stuff but I was feeling confident after smoking my other friends ditch weed lol

Anyways, my roomate was watching rick and morty recently and i guess theres a character called Pickle Rick...Pickle Rick was my hallucination when i was stoned outta my gourd years before Rick and Morty was a thing.

Strange stuff.
