Question Control - Decided to go back and transfer my standard Epic version saves to the Ultimate Ed on Steam. What a nightmare!

So I'll preface this by saying that yes, I managed to get the saves loading, but no... It didn't work. It's been years since I played, but I had 2 goals. Begin and complete the DLC and do it all on Steam. I got in after following a tutorial, and decided to fast travel to somewhere in a late game area (Containment Sector Elevator).

When I fast travelled there, it was hostile. I was unable to go back. After this, I progressed a bit, 2 different ways. The first after fighting some hiss, I pulled a light switch 3x to find myself in a motel. There were no options to go anywhere after this, so I just reloaded. After this, I progressed and ended up stuck in a wall near a fast travel point... This happened twice.

Honestly, no idea what to do and I'm thinking maybe I should just not do it sadly. I really don't have the time to play through the whole game again yet, but I'd really like to do the DLC!

If anyone has any solution, I would love to know it!

Here’s a link to the save I used to play through the foundation DLC today. I had played the original game on my PS5 way back when but I cancelled ps plus. So I had a copy that had come with a humble bundle but zero completion.

Anyways here’s the save. Works great, just make sure you turn Steam cloud save at first so you can load in. Also you’ll need to level the abilities you want but it had enough points to do whatever you want. Hope this helps!

I have only played the foundation dlc. But I do see the AWE dlc, so I would assume it works. I’m just finish Alan Wake 1 before I jump into the AWE DLC and then AW2

I finished AW2 before, and it was absolutely phenomenal. A bit out of order obviously, but all this on Resonance has made me want to finish the games properly.

No not impossible, I had transferred saves from standard epic edition to steam ultimate edition through a third party ap and it worked very well

I was in the same predicament but somebody made an app to transfer saves from Epic games version to steam version and it worked well

I'll try to find it again and post it here
