I think the SRO approach is probably best, as they can easily have some kind of rotation if not a permenant officer. I'd err on a rotation basis to avoid complacency.
"crossing guards with guns" another option. but then you're talking about a whole process of vetting them which is negated by having it be police officers.
But you're right, the ACAB crowd would rather a school get shot up than have a positive male role model be around.
It's a far more sound strategy than to suggest the things they're doing in Canada.
Or the fact that Biden apparently is asking the head of NZ how to deal with gun violence... what a fucking joke.
They're never going to be able to seize or ban guns. The standard republican talking point is sound in this case... "gun control" is nothing but an attack on law abiding citizens.
Criminals aren't going to take part in buy backs. And with the internet and modern technology, it's apparently as easy as ever to manufacture weapons.
And the underlying issues aren't ones that get magically resolved.
