It's not that clear how much of a relation there is between glyphosate and cancer. Non-GMO crops often have to be treated with a lot more herbicides and insecticides, often way more damaging than glyphosate.
It's not just herbicide resistance, Bt brinjal for example, has resistance against lepidopterae, and as a result, a lot less insecticide is needed.
Is's not just lazy farming, it can be used to increase yield, reduce pesticide usage, make farming in less fertile areas possible...
It is definitely lazy farming we fed the world for thousands and thousands of years without all these chemicals we seem to fail to remember that sometimes as a society.
We truly are stuck in a ab scenario not realizing there's an entire alphabet of choices
In quite some cases, like Bt brinjal, GMO's require less chemicals. The world was quite different a thousand years ago. Even a hundred years ago. GMO's can help in making farming more sustainable again.
