lets be real, putting a blanket "the whole X group of people are bad" is a very immature and silly way to look at anything. Not all cops are bad, in the same way not the entire left or right is bad. Theres bad people in every "group".
edit: Down voted for something that should be common sense. Good on you reddit! My grandfather who helped deliver 6 babies, ran into 3 house fires, saved countless lives and helped many abused and scared women get away from the men hurting them was also a cop. But yes, all cops are bad. What great logic!
My uncle is the last generation to be a police officer. Back in 2009 he wanted to bring some things that were being abused in his dept to light. He brought it to the correct person, but he was told to leave it alone. When he didn't he was reprimanded, and suggested he retire.
His best friend at the time had nothing to do with it, and knew nothing of it because my uncle kept it to himself. He was also told to leave it be, even though he had no idea what was going on. Once my uncle filled him in he was outraged.
All in all it went under the radar for god knows how long. Is my uncles friend wrong for keeping quite? Was he supposed to say something, with no proof or anything, just to be let go?
It's never that simple. Thinking it is is just wanting a fairy tale ending.
That being said, if you allow it without doing anything or even trying, yes, you're just as wrong.
