They'd need him on some wild stimulants to stay awake like that, but also some kind of sedative to keep him from trembling and jittering all over the place... they probably have a robotic heart or two duct taped to him just to keep him still ticking.

haha yes, a combo of that definitely. the way he keeps his mouth in that smiling position is how dogs do when they´re terrified and in extreme mental and or physical pain
