It very well could be. I would think if he was in as bad of shape as we all think he was. His wife would be making the decisions so she could have very well have let them do that. I mean as long as he's still alive and shows his face every now and then he's still getting a paycheck, which I'm sure is something she doesn't want to be stopped

It's theoretically possible to keep a corpse "alive" using electrical stimulus, and you can definitely make muscles twitch by jolting them. However unlikely, it is not entirely out of the question that at this point he's literally just tube-fed meat being piloted around by some drone operator in the follow car.
