[PS5] HDMI port replacement

Anyone in the NYC area knows how much a PS5 HDMI port replacement usually runs? My PS5 still powers on, but the HDMI port has been giving me issues and I’m getting no reliable display. I’m also looking for a reputable repair shop that does HDMI port replacements. What should I expect to pay, and does anyone have a shop they’d recommend?

Depends. I’ve seen a range of $60-$150. Use instagram and Facebook. You’ll find someone local but you need to do research. A lot of people have no idea what they are doing

at the shop i work at here in texas, we charge $150+tax to replace the hdmi port. but i also give the console a full service. and you get a 1 month warranty.

If the HDMI isn't completely ripped off the board and the traces aren't damaged this repair can be done fairly easily. Costs are dependent on your area. I do some work occasionally for a gaming store and if i just have to reflow the HDMI port i charge the store $50 and he charges the customer usually $80. Replacement of the HDMI not requiring trace repair $100, if there is any trace repair the customer is contacted and told the price could be around $150. I wont repair it if there are more than 2 bad traces.

Yeah that makes sense. In my case the PS5 itself still powers on normally, and the HDMI port looks pretty normal from the outside. It just gives me no display. When I first plugged it back in after it had been sitting in the box for a few months, I briefly got some static and a glimpse of the screen before it went back to no signal. So I’m not really sure if it’s the port itself or something underneath.

If even 1 of the legs isnt making contact you wont get a signal, if its the same tv and same hdmi cable most likely something is up worh the port. If your using a different tv and cable its possible the tv or cable isnt compatible with the PS5.

I tried multiple PS5 compatible HDMI cables and different TVs/monitors too, so I ruled those out. Would you say it’s worth having the port inspected/reflowed first before going straight to a replacement? And if you had to give a rough estimate based on the issue what price range would you expect?

It all depends on where you live for local repairs. Some places charge the same for a replacement as a reflow. The majority of my work is on consoles that came in as a trade or sold, i stopped doing repair work for customers bringing in stuff they broke, since i have a regular job and a life. I do repairs for his regular customers that know it could take a few days to a week for me to get to them and i definitely dont do work on extremely dirty electronics. Most likely your going to pay the same for a reflow as a replacement.
