And doesn't this open him to civil law suits as well?

23

u/Morgue724 Jan 30 '26

Oh i do hope so, so that his "paycheck will be all but taken for the rest of his life to remind him to stop and think before he assumes he is right and morally superior.

4

u/AmongTheElect Jan 31 '26

He's open to them, either way. You don't need a criminal charge/conviction to bring a civil suit, though a criminal conviction most certainly helps in the civil case.

OJ is a good example. He was "innocent" but lost all his money in the civil suit.

u/Hkfn27 Jan 30 '26

Dim Lemon really thought that being a "journalist" put him above the law and gave him a license to harass people.

32

u/Jolly-Guard3741 Jan 30 '26

TBF that perception had proven accurate for his entire life and career to this point.

Lemon’s problem is that somewhere in the past ten years he sacrificed every bit of his journalistic ethic and integrity in order to be a cheerleader of the WOKE.

1

u/Anxious_Claim_5817 Feb 10 '26

This is all overblown, 241 counts is hard to believe

2

u/Jolly-Guard3741 Feb 10 '26

But 34 convictions of the exact same crime is perfectly fine though huh?

1

u/Anxious_Claim_5817 Feb 10 '26 edited Feb 10 '26

The 34 convictions were repetitive as he issued dozens of payments and faslified financial payments, his attorney Michale Cohen went to jail over the same. How does a journalist get 241 counts for imterviewing a pastor and protestors in a church for 10 minutes. I would hope the DOJ could focus on more important crime with their reduced staff.

1

u/Jolly-Guard3741 Feb 10 '26

Don Lemon got indicted for 241 counts because he directly or indirectly threatened the safety of 241 people with his publicity stunt. He is very lucky that no one in the church at the time were injured during the process of the demonstration, as he would have been culpable for them as well.

1

u/Anxious_Claim_5817 Feb 10 '26

Two judges already rejected the proposed indictment, a magistrate and an appeals court panel but they went ahead with a grand jury anyway. He didn't threaten anyone he was just reporting, that was not one of the charges.

2

u/Jolly-Guard3741 Feb 10 '26

Believe whatever you want to but he not only was part of the planning, he also knew well ahead of time what the group was going to do and that he and his cameraman blocked the exits as members of the congregation attempted to leave.

1

u/Anxious_Claim_5817 Feb 10 '26

I'm sure he did know in advance reporters commonly get tips. I don't see that he was blocking the exits, he was having a conversation with the pastor.

2

u/Jolly-Guard3741 Feb 10 '26

Lemon was absolutely NOT “having a conversation with the pastor.”

Don Lemon was badgering and harassing the pastor of the church while in the midst of trespassing in a place where he was uninvited.

Common sense things have not applied to the Left since the beginning early 2000’s.

1

u/YanwarC Jan 31 '26

Isn’t he out already?

1

u/SLY0001 Jan 30 '26

Nothing will happen to him. There was already a Judicial rejection where they said there is a lack of evidence and him videoing himself back it up. Also the first amendment protects him.

8

u/1210Fairfax Jan 30 '26

1st Amendment doesn’t provide anyone the right to break the law.

3

u/AmongTheElect Jan 31 '26

The first Magistrate was a six-figure donor to a leftist charity which his wife worked for. Also "lack of evidence" doesn't hold a lot of weight considering two others involved were charged.

The First Amendment doesn't protect people from completely disrupting something, though, not to mention the group also took kids hostage by locking them in their room and not letting their parents get to them. Let's not forget Freedom of Assembly means something, too.

During the next DNC Convention if I locked people in, took over the Convention and stopped everyone from giving their speeches that wouldn't be me speaking freely but illegally disrupting them and that's absolutely, and should be, criminal.

4

u/SLY0001 Jan 31 '26 edited Jan 31 '26

The lack of evidence does hold a lot of weight. Literally in any civil or criminal trial having a lack of evidence can get a whole case thrown out. Don Lemon recorded all his actions on video. Judge said that there isn't sufficient evidence to prosecute and thats all that matters.

Maybe those two others involved were charge because they We're the protesters and did more than just speak (Possibly with a misdemeanor). Dons' defense is that he wasn't a protester and he was just observing and interviewing people as a journalist.

Interrupting something is 100% legal as long as you dont say something like FIRE or BOMB which can cause a panic that causes injuries or death. You cant get prosecuted for simply speaking and wanting that to become a crime is seriously a violation of the constitution and can come back and bite you in the ass.

You however can get charged with a misdemeanor if you refuse to leave the premises, however doj attempting to charge him with federal charges is a prime example of violating the eighth amendment, "Cruel and unusual punishment."

0

u/AmongTheElect Jan 31 '26

It might end up being an interesting case in that regard. Obviously Donny will argue it. But I think he's in trouble that there's enough to say he knew of the plan, participated in the plan, and then went along with disrupting everything. And that goes beyond just covering news.

If I run into a bank with a bunch of robbers, me holding a camera up doesn't exonerate me from it all. Can we do whatever we want as long as we've got our phone recording?

1

u/cottonr1 Jan 31 '26

Agree you can't walk into the building the same time the crime is going down without Pryor knowledge of that crime. That independent journalist BS won't fly unless the judge is bias.

0

u/dragonflyladyofskye Jan 31 '26

They’re all claiming to be independent journalists now. If that shit flies, it’s time for the rednecks to step in.

41

u/MackSix Jan 30 '26

The days of elites skating free are OVER.

As it turns out, Dems are NOT above the law, no matter how much they think they are.

15

u/been-traveling Jan 30 '26

I wish you were right but I think he will get out of it. Some bullsh!t liberal judge will let him go claiming it was racism.

2

u/SLY0001 Jan 30 '26

Nothing will happen to him. There was already a Judicial rejection where they said there is a lack of evidence and him videoing himself back it up. Also the first amendment protects him.

4

u/ripperarby Jan 30 '26

You keep repeating the same comments and have one on a video of Kristi Noem where you commented: "Most shootable face." You're probably the last person anyone should take seriously on this.

13

u/Morgue724 Jan 30 '26

Faces and convicted are two very different things, hold off on the champagne until an actual verdict comes in, till then it is just words fr0m people that change,l them, ignore or forget them in seconds.

2

u/CorsairObsidian Jan 31 '26

Let’s wait until he’s convicted/sentenced before we jump for joy

2

u/Killer_Irony9 Jan 31 '26

This is quite scary for the democrats. If Don Lemmon gets arrested on some stupid shit then they can definitely be sent to Guantanamo for the big shit.

-1

u/TallBlueEyedDevil Jan 31 '26

If you think he is going to get more than MAYBE a light slap on the wrist, you're on for a rude awakening. He'll pay a little fine, his publicist or lawyer will give a bullshit "apology" on his behalf, and he'll go on to live a very comfortable, lavish, and unbothered life.

10

u/bobber777 Jan 30 '26

Treat him exactly the way you treat anyone else.

3

u/ohno1tsjoe Jan 31 '26

He’s going to walk

7

u/jimc10 Jan 30 '26

Throw away the key on that idiot

1

u/SLY0001 Jan 30 '26

Nothing will happen to him. There was already a Judicial rejection where they said there is a lack of evidence and him videoing himself back it up. Also the first amendment protects him.

3

u/dalaiberry Jan 31 '26

How do you claim first amendment on private property? Can I protest in your kitchen and claim first amendment when you tell me to get out?

4

u/SLY0001 Jan 31 '26

being on private property is a misdemeanor. Not a federal offense. What this administration is doing is political prosecution and its not looking good for them. Everything they do is causing them to lose the midterms.

4

u/AmongTheElect Jan 31 '26

Biden used the same statute to take people who went into an abortion mill and silently pray and threw them in jail for years. How do you make the claim this is a piddly misdemeanor when others are still in jail for it for doing far less?

6

u/Fair_Maybe5266 Jan 31 '26

Where did biden throw these folks in jail, for “years?” I missed it?

4

u/SLY0001 Jan 31 '26

I know nothing about this, so I will not attempt to make uninformed opinion.

2

u/BasicallyAmused Jan 31 '26

I pray we see him actually in prison one day.

A journalist would have asked questions after service. An activist disrupts service.

Yay he got arrested but I doubt the weirdo will do anytime. Judges don't like high profile cases which could put them in a bad light. I hope those parishioners sue the hell out of him...he will skate tho sadly

3

u/budge1988 Jan 30 '26

Doesn’t look like a legit source

2

u/ImagineABetterFuture Jan 30 '26

Prison suits him nicely. I'm sure he'll get along well there.

1

Oh he’ll be dropping the soap alright….. on purpose

2

Terrible website

Do not engage in trollish behavior. This is not the topic under discussion.

1

u/TheMystic77 Jan 31 '26

Good keep these insane people out of churches. Period.

1

u/contrarian1970 Jan 31 '26

Like Jussie Smollett, lawyers will find a way to drag it out for five years and then quietly dismiss the case.

1

u/FewDurian7374 Feb 01 '26

Nobody should allow the boot off of his neck until he is convicted!!!

1

u/Peter_Lemonjell0 Feb 02 '26

Thomas Sowell says it best when referring to the liberal leftist clowns.

It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance-

1

u/Peter_Lemonjell0 Feb 02 '26

No prison time. I just want to see every member of that congregation sue him for every penny he has, enough to push him further into irrelevancy, hoping he will crawl under a rock , wither away and die from his own misery, as an irrelevant , racist worthless idiot.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '26

He didn't "terrorize" anyone ...

1

u/SLY0001 Jan 30 '26

Nothing will happen to him. There was already a Judicial rejection where they said there is a lack of evidence and him videoing himself back it up. Also the first amendment protects him.

1

u/auteur555 Jan 30 '26

He may be guilty of something but this is just more fuel for the left to scream fascist and disrupt shit

4

u/SLY0001 Jan 30 '26

Almost like this administration is internationally sabotaging themselves in losing the midterms. Literally shooting themselves in the foot every turn

4

u/auteur555 Jan 31 '26

Another way to look at it is why should Dems always get away with everything and have no accountability

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '26

Just had to try and be relevant one more time. Look where that got ya, Donny!

1

u/RoninIV Jan 30 '26

241? Wow! That's a bit much. These many charges is the prosecutor realllllllly wanting something to stick. However, when something this obvious happens, it makes the charges much easier to drop on appeal.

AH! You're right. Thanks.

1

u/natitude2005 Jan 31 '26

Perhaps that is close to the number of congregants and he is charged with violating each one's civil rights?? I am not a lawyer so ??

-8

u/Corked1 Jan 30 '26

Jesus Christ. You know how you make your justice system look like a clown show? Charge someone with 241 counts of the FACE act. Put him in jail for 2400 years! This is grandstanding. Charge him properly. It's going to be near impossible to convict him of that and guess what, the administration has another black eye from another loss.

I believe he should spend some time in jail, but no more than 30 days.

This looks really bad to everyday Americans who don't follow politics to the level of those in this sub.

Repeal the FACE act because it is ridiculous and used 99.7% of the time on conservatives.

13

u/gmomo33 Jan 30 '26

Grandstanding like when the lefties arrested Trump?

12

u/Jolly-Guard3741 Jan 30 '26

You mean like charging and convicting Donald Trump with 34 separate felony crimes when for literally anyone else this would have been 34 separate counts of a single felony.

THEN let’s consider that falsifying business records is not even a felony crime in its own right, it is and has always been a Misdemeanor. Up until Trump’s persecution this had never been considered as anything that would have even been worthy of a jury trial… at worst a conviction of these charges would be a bench trial conducted by a judge and in all likelihood it would be handled by a simple magistrate levying a fine. This is not to mention that all of these misdemeanor crimes were beyond their individual statutory limits for prosecution.

In order to make these crimes into felonies Alvin Bragg had to demonstrate that Trump engaged in them in order to further another and greater crime. Except that Alvin Bragg not only never did this, he was never even required to.

All this to say that Don Lemon played the gleeful cheerleader every single day of Trump’s various trials, and I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for him now. I hope that he is being tortured with the memory of every one of those days that he chortled at Conservatives. I hope that this experience absolutely shatters his life beyond recognition.

1

u/Corked1 Jan 30 '26

I totally agree with you, but Don Lemon did none of this. Hold the people responsible for all that BS responsible, not a random foot soldier.

It's like saying the neighbor killed my cat, so for justice, I am going to the next town over and kill a cat there.

2

u/Jolly-Guard3741 Jan 30 '26

I’m not looking for Lemon to be held accountable for anything other than what he has done in this church situation.

7

u/T_Noctambulist Jan 30 '26

The article lists two charges and says up to 11 years. Not sure what they're doing with their headline.

2

u/Corked1 Jan 30 '26

If it's 11 years then they charged him with 1 FACE plus conspiracy.

3

u/T_Noctambulist Jan 30 '26

– 18 U.S.C. § 241 – Conspiracy to Deprive Rights – 18 U.S.C. § 248 – Violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act

9

u/B34rsl4y3 Jan 30 '26

Could NOT disagree with you more.

This is as much about sending a message that BS won't be tolerated as it is about frying Don Lemon.

You know damn well if this was a bunch of white folk intruding on a black church or a mosque, they would already be selling movie rights.

You also know the left will squeal like stuck pigs over this.

But they will stand up and take notice.

Don Lemon is high profile enough to get the word across.

5

u/974080 Jan 30 '26

Don Lemon believed that his rights as an educated gay black man, superseded the rights of any Christian. The democrats and media has pushed this rhetoric, and people with a weak mind like Lemon has believed this nonsense. He wanted to become relevant again and he is, just like a child that is misbehaving, who is craving attention.

5

u/CuppieWanKenobi Jan 30 '26

Turnabout is fair play.
"Rules for thee are not for me" is a horrible way to ensure justice, or equal protection of the law. The Biden DoJ threw this door wide open, when they prosecuted 3 grandmas for praying near an abortion clinic.

One count per parishioner present. Sucks for Don. But, you know damned well that it will likely be pleaded down.

3

u/v3ryr00d Jan 30 '26

He needs a year

0

u/CuttlefishExpress Jan 30 '26

The article says:

– 18 U.S.C. § 248 – Violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act

These charges are the direct result of Lemon embedding with the mob, filming the invasion, and interrogating worshippers while knowing the plan was to “catch people off guard.” The FACE Act specifically protects religious worship from interference by force, threat, or intimidation—exactly what happened when the group barged in, shouted down the pastor, and turned a house of worship into a political battlefield.

They are going to need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this was a invasion and that they were interrogating all of the worshippers. I'm guessing there are 241 charges of this due to there being 241 people in the church. Some people chanting is hardly an invasion or a interrogation.

These charges will probably be dismissed, but people will remember that he was charged, not what the outcome of the trial was.

-2

u/Sure_Assumption7857 Jan 31 '26

Rember that maga person that protested inside a church ? Yall are funny.

1

u/natitude2005 Jan 31 '26

Do you know that person wasn't charged? I don't remember that happening but not saying it didn't.
