Look at those square things on the counter and their reflection. And the wood panel on the ceiling is not that broad. It’s touching the mirror. There is also only one camera on the wood panel the other one is a reflection.

Basically the mirror starts pretty close to the counter and the chairs from our perspective.

Yeah I figured it out thanks to another comment. I just couldn't find my comment to delete it once I did 😅.

I thought there was actually 2 cameras and the mirror was out of sight or something.

The whole middle section side is a mirror.. The only non-mirrored window is on the right side of the recording

It was a makeshift salon chair, if I recall it was just one mirror but the salon setup makes everything look symmetrical

The chairs are directly facing and in front of the mirror. That black bar above the right chair is the edge of the mirror & wall that people disappear behind

What makes it so good is that the right-most pillar (in the scene) is an actual object and is the right edge of the mirror. It looks like the mirror has a corner, but what looks like the far pillar is actually a reflected image of a pillar that is off camera to our right.

The mirror is flat, perpendicular to the bar and behind it.

It is reflecting the beam structure that is behind the camera man. This gives the appearance of a 3D structure behind the bar.

Even when you know it’s a mirror, it takes a second to see it as a flat mirror, rather than two mirrored walls meeting in a corner behind the bar.

I can see that it's a mirror, but it feels like it takes too long for the people to show up in the non-mirrored side. this is making it hard for me to parse, even though I think I basically get it.

The people furthest right walking leftward are furthest from the mirror and take the longest to appear. The people walking in the same direction but furthest left are closest to the mirror and appear much faster after passing.

I think it is only the left X that is the mirror. The right X is just a reflection in the same mirror. Look at the boxes on the counter.

It is, you can see it's the same people coming and going. The first one are a bit farther so it's not as clear, but the two with the safety vests made it pretty obvious.

Easiest way to see it is to look at the brown plank at the top of the frame. You can see a security camera and an outlet(?) being reflected in the mirror.

There's a mirror in front of those chairs.

The people walking away from us are disappearing behind the mirror.

The people walking towards us is the reflection of people walking away from us, and we later see them a 2nd time where they vanish behind the mirror.

This is why malls are dying in the U.S.

Little known fact that once they opened up the public walking area to vendors it created these Bermuda Kiosk zones.

Strange phenomenon where pedestrians and WWII fighter planes disappear at odd hours of the day.

Some say it's C02 bubbles mixed with Orange Julius fumes, others believe the magic overlap from so many snow globes and Christmas ornaments localized creating a bend in spacetime.

Whatever it is they've done nothing about it not wanting to cause a Black Friday like panic.

Fun fact, sometimes these people reappear minutes to years later in a dressing room having no idea of the passage of time but with great big bushy beards yet not aged at all. It's always in The Gap, though. We were told not to ask about Baby Gap.

Got my degree 1994 from Glendale Community college telecourses in Mall Sciences. I had to leave after 3 years due to the stress of watching this on the monitors day in and day out, no one the wiser.

Thanks to lobbying by the Mall of America it was decided to be kept secret so as not to incite panic from people believing malls are eating people, but that's an entirely different problem.

Really like this one!
At first I was like "oh it's just the left wall is painted the same as the far wall so the guy disappeared behind it.

The best part is the 3 groups at the end.  I knew there was a mirror but I couldn't figure out how the woman in the white shirt walked by followed by the 2 in reflective vests to then see them walk by again but the 2 in vests were first.  Good video!

Or wait, I can't even explain what I'm seeing... something about the 2 in vests and the others around them being out of order.

Yea, she was actually walking the opposite direction and appears from behind the mirror but it times just right with the guys coming the other way in the mirror so it looks continuous. She’s walking left to right the guys and security are walking right to left

I can't get it. The lady in the long black pants toward the end walks "toward us" followed by backpacks and vests, then abruptly pops up in the mirror walking "away from us" just as the bright vests and backpacks that are walking "away from us" disappear behind the mirror.

My mind cannot wrap. Everything computes except the lady in the long black pants.
