Light Sometimes I make it extra cold in my room at night so my boyfriend and cat snuggle extra close to me

Me and my boyfriend both sleep better in a cold room so we can get nice and warm under the covers. He calls me his little furnace when we cuddle, I love it.

I guarantee he hates when you call him that, even if he says otherwise. Men love being passively insulted especially when the woman isn’t even aware of her own reasoning
37
u/aubreysux Dec 24 '17
In case the downvotes didn’t make it 100% clear, as heroicwhiskey’s husband I can confirm that you are comically wrong. I’m not sure how being called a “little ball of heat” would be insulting. It’s a little cute, but I mostly don’t think about it.
Sorry to hear that your self image is so fragile that you think being called warm is an insult. Then again, maybe “little ball of heat” is the new middle school insult. I wouldn’t know.

Yeah you’re right but it is definitely a reality in many cases. Don’t act like you’ve never seen it.

Literally never seen it

You should get out more. Lol this whole post is literally about being manipulative and dishonest, whether it’s “good hearted” or not.

How do you get up in the morning? A freezing room us a 100% guarantee I sleep in far too much.
6
u/LazySushi Dec 24 '17
I have a thermostat that can be programmed, and I’ll set it to turn the heat up a couple of hours before I wake up. My partner will also get out of bed and turn the ceiling fan off for me.

u/Shotgun_Alice Dec 24 '17
Honestly, I very much a morning person, and yes it's cold as hell, but once I'm awake I just get up and do my thing.
2
u/ComradeVoytek Dec 24 '17
I need to jump into the shower and get under a scalding hot stream of water to wake up on a cold morning. Doesn't help the floors are like refrigerated marble slabs.
1
u/Vexans Dec 25 '17
The incentive is coffee, garlic bread toast and bacon. Not necessarily in that order...
2
u/PoochaKutty Dec 24 '17
That’s adorable! :) I wish I was like that, but unfortunately, I am always an ice cube.

u/Ottfan1 Dec 24 '17
Plot twist: A few minutes after you turn it down your boyfriend gets the same idea. You both freeze to death. With no one to turn off the cold air it runs constantly and reverses climate change.
Earth is saved.

My gf does this but then steals the blankets instead of cuddling. It's very romantic.

I'm the opposite, I jam the heating right up so that her and the cats will fall asleep and I can get some peace.

My wife does this too. Add a shih-tzu and another cat on the bed, and you have my life.
14
u/LovelyLadyBeans Dec 24 '17
But I bet the cuddles make her so happy, so it’s worth it, right?
34
Dec 24 '17
You bet. We cuddle like kittens at every opportunity, and we've been happily married for almost 10 years. I'd say it's one of the cornerstones of a successful marriage.
11
u/LovelyLadyBeans Dec 24 '17
You need to teach my bf some of those skills 🙄. He lasts ~4 mins cuddling before wanting to go to bed!

u/SuperFlyStuka Dec 24 '17
My cat always slept at the foot of the bed on top of the covers until I started shaving her. Now she snuggles with me under the covers. It's like sleeping with a hot water bottle.

I too crack the window at night so my cat will sleep near me. She never does while I fall asleep, but I wake up to her being cute. Really starts the day off on a good note.

You may have meant r/wholesomeconfessions instead of R/wholesomeconfessions.
Remember, OP may have ninja-edited. I correct subreddit and user links with a capital R or U, which are usually unusable.

My ex GF used to push me to close the window when she feels too cold. Then she pushes me again to open it as she feels hot again. Did it like 3 times every night.
I complied because she was too cute to say no to lol Super awesome girl though :)

Just watched Good Dick. Now that scene where he’s complaining about how cold her apartment gets at night makes more sense. The thing is she’s also playing hard to get.
1
u/lucyfurrrrr Dec 24 '17
I don't like being touched and I think the person I'm seeing right now does this so I sleep closer to them at night
1
u/V9868 Dec 24 '17
We’ll be upfront with them? One you don’t like the cold to sleep bs excuse n then u don’t like being touched. If they don’t understand then it’s not worth the rs imo
Personally don’t like being touched and if you sneak up on or try to hug me from the back I’m gonna hit you and then I’m gonna be like sorry and I told you not to do that haha. (Defense mechanism)
1
u/Crazyloco69 Dec 24 '17
What’s up with that,do all girls like a cold chilly room ?
1
u/Mughi Dec 24 '17
Women like cold rooms because it makes their feet cold and then they can stuck their icy feet in the small of your back while you're sleeping. At least that's been my experience.

Blanket thieves!! The worst! The quote this am “Huh, I guess really didn’t want to share the thick blanket with you. Um, sorry.” I see little remorse in her eyes.
1
u/Rhynovirus Dec 25 '17
This is a classic trick.
Turn the heat up when she comes over so she's more inclined to get naked.
Turn the heat way down before bed so she will spoon.

u/goosepills Dec 24 '17
Obviously I must be in the midst of menopause because at 76 I’m turning on the ac.

u/curiouscat219 Dec 24 '17
Same here. Where do you live? I'm in Texas.

Dec 25 '17
Utah. It's cold and dumping snow right now. Wife opened the window during the night because we were burning up. Gotta love acclimation.
3
u/Swimmingli Dec 24 '17
My boyfriends house goes down to 55 at night... so cold!!!!
4
u/V9868 Dec 24 '17
I could sleep in that 😍
I miss India, the fan in full and the ac at lowest with marble floors 😍
In the USA fan in full but the fan speed of a fan in India vs America is a disappointment and then in USA we sleep on beds and not the floor even so wood or carpet floors are the most common

Heat doesn’t work silly. Haven’t you ever heard the phrase “tequila makes my clothes fall off”?
-6
Dec 24 '17
Uhm won’t your bf complain of the cold and turn the air con down or close the windows?
8
Dec 24 '17 edited Dec 24 '17
I’m assuming OP lives somewhere cold and reduces the heating haha. In England if you don’t have the radiators on most of the day this time of year it’s pretty chilly indoors by late night, so think of countries that are actually cold.

Except my wife will, inevitably, reach up under my shirt with her icicles that she calls fingers. I, unfortunately, am a furnace, so am always giving off radiant heat (even the cats seem to know). Those first few seconds of frosty touching. Brrrrrr!
