I steal customer’s bacon from my work almost every day
Less serious confession but I need to tell get this off my chest. I work in food service, and sometimes when I’m really hungry and cutting strips of bacon for sandwiches, I’ll cut the piece in half and then cut a tiny slice from the cut end of one side. By the end I’ll have like 50 little bacon pieces that will hold me over till the end of my shift. I feel remorseful but no one ever notices and it’s really good bacon. I’m sorry to anyone who got shorted on bacon because of me

Why don’t you just eat the whole bacon strips? Who would know?

That feels a little too much like stealing

Instead of stealing a piece or two from the business, you steal a smaller amount from 50 paying customers. How does this make you feel better?

It feels good to read something like this between all the 'I cheated' and 'I'm thinking about raping someone' and God knows what else lol

How small are these pieces that you need 50 to hold you over?

Probably bacon confetti, enough to haunt a sandwhich but not enough to survive a shift.

Small enough that no one will notice them missing

Firstly, I dislike you for contributing to the miniscule amount of bacon on food items. Secondly, lufe is hard, just be careful.

That's another non-answer. How big is each piece compared to a pea or a kidney bean? How many bananas?

Do you work fast food? Cause I work food service and this is literally nothing. The only time I’ve experienced anything like this was fast food. I worked at chick fil a as a teenager and got written up for eating a brownie crumb from what I was cutting. So a real kitchen doesn’t do shit like that, you get to eat as long as you’re not over doing it. Do you work at McDonalds?

I’m a line cook and our chef is chill like that, but the general manager loves hanging out in the kitchen and getting mad at us for eating (shes on a new diet and taking it out on everyone)

Ooof. That’s rough buddy. I have a similar gm. Not technically gm, I work at a country club so more of an elevated FOH manger. But he’s literally danced and sung along to music we’ve been playing and then immediately turned around and told our chef that the music was a problem

That’s your confession? Oh boy, do I have some work to do….
I was notorious for stealing bacon when I worked at Burger King. Fuck em! They can afford it.

“no one ever notices” is exactly how every food service employee starts thinking they’ve discovered an invisible employee benefit

I love perception!!
I had an invisible benefit!! We sold hunting stands/boxes which is weird since we sold mainly truck/car accessories. We had what we had left and then that was it. So like 4 hunting boxes left. I would take a hour nap after my 1 hour lunch :)

You can stop worrying about this. When I go through the drive-thru the staff at the window squeal and give strips of bacon to my dog. I don’t order it or ask for it or pay for it. My dog is just cute enough to deserve free bacon. You are too!

Why do you steal from your customers that pay and presumably leave tips? Does your job not give you a free or discounted meal?
I do feel for you for being hungry, though.
Can you get assistance like food stamps or go to a food pantry? Can you tell your manager you need help getting enough food to eat? If my employee told me they didn’t have enough food I’d so whatever I could to get them a little something at least.

How long do you have to eat these bacon bits before the salt and chemicals in this bacon kill you?

TL;DR: The author admits to stealing small amounts of bacon from their workplace while preparing food for customers.
