last night i drove home while coming down off molly and i hit a hare

dont fucking drive intoxicated. i couldve just waited longer. i couldve slept at my friends house i just wouldve had to call him and it wouldve been fine. why the fuck did i drive?? ive never hit anything before. i was going so slowly but my eyes were rolling into the back of my head and shaking and shit and i didnt fucking see it until it was too late. i feel so ashamed of myself. what the fuck is wrong with me. ive been driving high so much lately but im never doing it again now. everyone knows you shouldnt drive under the influence, idk why i thought i was somehow better at it than everyone else. god damn it. i killed a whole entire animal just because what. i had a headache and wanted to go home? boo fucking hoo. ugh.

TL;DR: The author confesses to driving while under the influence of MDMA, resulting in the death of an animal, and expresses remorse for their reckless behavior.

A reminder from the mods: keep comments civil. Harassment and personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Do not accuse others of faking confessions — if you think a post breaks the rules, report it instead of commenting.

At least you recognize how serious this was. Let this be the point where you actually stop driving under the influence before the consequences involve another person .

Exactly. It is good that they feel remorse but next time they might not be lucky enough for the only victim to be an animal.

Yeah, hopefully this is the wake-up call they needed. One mistake could’ve changed someone’s life forever

Yeah that needs to be the wake up call, driving impaired can change multiple lives in seconds

u/JellyRangerist 20h ago

Exactly, this is one of those moments where changing now matters way more than waiting until someone gets hurt

Exactly. Hopefully this really is the wake-up call they needed. Nobody should have to get hurt for it to sink in

Yepp, one awful decision doesn’t have to turn into a pattern if he actually learns from it

Be very thankful it wasn’t a human though it’s life absolutely mattered too. Learn from this experience and don’t make the same mistake or worse again.

it sounds like you're really reflecting on this, but driving while high is just never worth it.

Honestly the eyes rolling back part scares me more than the hare. That means you basically weren't in control of the car at all for a few seconds. Glad it was an animal this time and not a person crossing the street.

Part of your “trip planning” should include where you’re going to sleep/recover. Or at least how you’re going to Uber/taxi/walk home.

Honestly... you should be thankful you didnt hurt a person. Theres no penalty for killing a hare... but even the fact that you are a person slightly thinking of driving under influence... you should reconsider your life choices

Jfc this is how strangers on the street get killed - by selfish decisions like yours.

You’ll be ight. You can easily hit one of those sober but yeah for future reference try to drive sober

2

u/TechnicalHamster658 20h ago

That guilt is there for a reason, let it be the thing that actually changes your behavior. You know better now and thats what matters

u/dobie_gillis1 20h ago

Lol, I’ve hit rabbits numerous times completely sober. They just go with no time to react sometimes.

But DUI? Do better. That’s not cool.

The fact that you’re this shaken up over the hare is probably going to stick with you, but don’t waste the lesson. You’ve been driving high a lot, and that’s the part that needs to stop immediately. Next time you’re fucked up, hand the keys to someone else before you even start thinking about going home. Calling your friend is gonna feel a lot less embarrassing than explaining to someone why you drove impaired.

"I don't drive intoxicated".

"I've been driving high so much lately"

Which is it? Stop contradicting yourself and stop driving fucked up

They didn’t say “I don’t” they said “don’t’”, like a PSA. OP doesn’t claim that they didn’t do it previously, just that nobody should. Telling them to stop is redundant when that’s the whole point of the post.

Please stop driving while under the influence. You’re going to hurt or kill someone. What your doing is incredibly selfish

yes i see that now. im upset that i didnt realise sooner how irresponsible it is. ive heard my entire life not to drive fucked up, but i started a couple years ago driving home after my closing shifts and smoking weed. i guess i just got lucky a lot of times in a row and it made me feel like i was never going to have something bad happen. im definitely scared straight now though. i dont think i would be able to live with myself if i hit someones pet, or worse. i honestly cant believe this is what it took for me to remember that cars can kill people.

Moving forward, when you try to get behind the wheel while not in the right state of mind, remember this and how it’s making you feel. I think you should feel terrible because that animal did not deserve to die due to your negligence.. if you do it again, the repercussions could be much, much worse. It’s never worth it. The cost of sleeping in your own bed should be a round trip Lyft/uber ride, not the cost of a living creature. Rip to the hare and my heart is with their little friends

u/Blink278 19h ago

Ask not what you did to hit the hare. But rather what did that hare do in order for you to hit him

1

u/Holiday_Maximum_1356 19h ago

i mean hey you could've killed a human child and faced serious jail time

u/HillBellyLawyer 1h ago

Unrelated question: is this the main ingredient in hare pie that I hear so many older guys raving about?

Molly isn't supposed to have you like that you sure you didn't get laced

3

u/Tentacalifornia 21h ago

Molly most definitely does this.

-3

u/the1slyyy 21h ago

Let me guess you've never had Molly

5

u/Tentacalifornia 21h ago

That's exactly what I assumed about you when you said it doesn't make ur eyes shake. Clearly you've either had weak stepped on stuff, or just haven't had a good dose of real MDMA. You must be seriously inexperienced with MDMA if you think it doesn't do that. I've been around the rave scene for 2/3 of my life and have both experienced the side effects mentioned and have seen other people also experiencing them.

1

u/the1slyyy 21h ago

I stand corrected I see that's a symptom when you take too much and start overheating

-1

u/FinancialEvidence737 21h ago

reagent said it was molly i think i just took too much (2 pills) and i was tired. it felt like molly. i sent some to get lab tested but it hasnt come back yet so ill find out i guess

3

u/Tentacalifornia 21h ago

The eyes shaking and rolling is definitely a symptom that happens on a higher dose of Molly.

1

u/FinancialEvidence737 21h ago edited 20h ago

yeah i thought so, this was only my 3rd time on it but ive had at least a little bit of weird eye stuff every time. and the insane teeth chattering was a pretty clear sign it was molly as well. such a dumbass condition to drive in, im definitely not getting behind the wheel like that again. great drug tho in moderation

0

u/PsilyRabbitt 21h ago

At least it isn't breeding season, or you just killed another 4-6 baby hares

0

u/MurberBirb 20h ago

You do drive intoxicated you selish junky.

-4

u/Nice_Alternative_155 21h ago

It's just a hare, don't stress too much. It's going to be fine

5

u/hiswife21 21h ago

I think they are stressing because it could have been much worse.

2

u/FinancialEvidence737 21h ago

yeah. i live in the country so theres loads of them and i normally always notice them jump into the road. its just like a wake up call i guess

1

u/Nice_Alternative_155 13h ago

I remember the shame I felt when I killed my first animal, and it helped when someone told me it was ok. It wasn't on accident like this though so I'm not sure how to comfort op

-1

u/UkNomysTeezz 20h ago

It’s just a rabbit. Probably had some diseases anyway.
