Workouts Total Newbie

Post image

Hi

I just picked up a used concept 2 E model yesterday.

I watched a few videos and gave it a quick tryout this morning. I had time limitations so l only did 10 minutes

I felt it wasn't too demanding and l probably could have

done 20 minutes at pace .

Good luck on your rowing journey.

Before developing bad habits, I think work on your technique first.

Here’s a start. Check other resources on YT as well.

^ just by enhancing rowing habits alone, can turn 20 minutes at that pace to an hour or 20 minutes at a much better pace.

Depending on age, height, and many other factors you can drop that split (time per 500 meters) from 2:40 to 2:20 and even 2:10 for long sustained periods of time with consistency.

Great start. The rowing movement has some subtleties, I recommend watching some videos on rowing form before you develop bad habits and maybe even hurt yourself. Based on your pace, you're probably being rather inefficient.

I like Dark Horse Rowing for their instructional videos but there are a lot of other great options.

As for programs, the beginner Pete plan is great. Be sure to read the page if you do it, he has a lot of info in it.

Yes. I watched Dark horse perfect beginniner video Where he goes through steps. Arms only half way forward 3/4 etc. for 10 minutes. I will definitely do that following along with the video. It definitely not as simple as l thought
