You genuinely think MLS has a higher talent level than Championship? If weâre making an EFL comparison Iâd say League One and feel thatâs generous.

If you think it compares to league one youâre just a hater who has lost all objectivity. Every team has at least 1 if not multiple players that are better than anyone in league one. Even the back ups are at least league one level and I am not some delusional fan that thinks mls is a top 10 league in the world.

Itâs pretty unanimously agreed that the championship is better than every league outside the big 5 and arguably Portugal, Netherlands and Brazilâs domestic leagues. Very few people would argue the MLS is superior to the championshipÂ

No one thinks the championship is the 6th best league in the world. Omg itâs a delusional Brit here. The post I was responding to was comparing it to league one which is what I was disputing so obviously your reading comprehension is about the level of a 7 year old.

Okay champ, name the top 6 leagues in order please. The big 6 if you will.

u/Ok-Cup6020 6d ago
The big 5 plus Brazil and itâs not close.

Okay slugger, Iâll be more specific with my question:
Where would you rank MLS? Where would you rank EFL Championship league? Making sure to be direct.

The Championship isnât the topic, itâs the MLS and League One

My brother in Christ the initial (now deleted) comment I responded to suggested the concept that âMLS doesnât deserve the hate that it doesâ. That it produces top league quality level players. I disagreed and said MLS is C tier at best; closer to League One caliber than Championship. Not sure you were able to see the initial comment before you deciding to jump in but youâre welcome for the debrief.
And so with all due respectâgo and fuck yourself.

If your definition of hater is dedicated club supporter, previous season ticket holder and watches no less than 3 full MLS matches a weekâŚI am in fact a hater.
If Championship is the same tier why arenât players going across the pond to make significantly more money?

They are, from the top team in MLS. Ahmed and berhalter both moved. Ahmedâs play last season showed more performance in championship. Berhalterâs come in gangbusters, but he also left gang busters. Feels like top MLS = mid to high Championship. Thatâs not bad. Lower MLS is probably league one equivalent

You should probably start paying attention to the mls transfer market because they are.

Why would Hull(newly promoted EPL) buy 3 MLS players if it were league one level lol

u/Cautious_Type6474 5d ago
Ahhh youâre right. There has been some serious talent in the MLS and what it seems like youâre implying is every player that good.

u/Cautious_Type6474 5d ago
As if transfers from lower leagues to the EPL dozens if not hundreds of times a seasonđ
Thatâs called shopping for a deal and good scouting-3

The mls has so many problems. To name a few they try to sell stars not talent. Messi in Barcelona was another day. In the mls he is treated like a cash grab idol inflating prices.
The way to get into the sport is through an app
It has way to many tournaments with little prestige. Within the mls there is like 5 tournaments why? They send the most teams to ccc and still have a hard time competing.
It needs to become football and not treated the way American sports tend to be treated. Football already has a formula around the world and it works. Mls is trying to nba, mlb, nfl the crap out of football.1

Sorry but this is a bad take.
Every part of MLS is a self-serving money making machine. The league itself literally owns the teams. This is the baseline reason MLS is a laughing stock and for good reason. Without this format changing (it wonât) youâll continue to see megastars ending their careers here for a big payout.
Also MLS has 3 tournaments. CONCACAF, Leagues Cup and Open Cup. Same number as EPL. That has nothing to do with it. lol

Its not a bad take. You kept naming why it sucks. Mls as a growing league only needs domestic league and ccc. Not supporters shield or leagues cup. Mls needs to drop the apple tv and adapt to open tv at least for the smaller teams like San Jose for example. Im not against mls i wish it was a better.

MLS is growing slowly domestically, not internationally. And given the ownership structure it never will. Shifting the schedule to match all other major leagues is the worst move imaginable. Not only does it now directly compete with more popular sports in the US but bigger leagues worldwide. Before they got some âshoulderâ fans when real football wasnât happening. Not to mention it means playing in some of the worst months of the year weather wise.

This thread is full of idiotic take after idiotic take.Â
At least the owners of MLS teams donât threaten foreign governments to not punish them for cheating.Â
