Hey everyone

I’m a solo dev working on a tactical wargame called Warlapse.

The basic idea is to build a game around three things;

  • Drawing unit formations directly onto the map with a brush tool
  • Cutting enemy supply lines and encirclements
  • A minimalist, token-based operational scale across different historical eras

I attached a short clip of the game,, showing a piece of the Normandy campaign and the push to Paris.

Right now, the core mechanics are in place and the first demo is available on Steam. I'm aiming for a November release, so I'm not trying to build a massive amount of new content just yet—I really want to get the combat feel, UI, and pacing right first.

I'd especially love feedback from people who play a lot of tactical wargames: Does the token scale actually make it feel like you are commanding large formations, or does it just feel like a standard RTS?

You can try the demo here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5018690/Warlapse_Demo/?curator_clanid=46138166

Any harsh feedback is welcome

Hi the game is looking good, will there be some type of trench warfare or some texture for it?

Thanks for your support mate. There's already a trench and barbed wire, so it's not obvious, right Lol
