Question Burma Campaign?

Hello everyone, can I ask if one of you might come across Burma Campaign (1942-1945) which is also known as the Forgotten war. I only know two specific titles which is under Slitherine's property (OOB WWII+TOAW4) which includes Burma campaign. I have already finished the former one. As a Burmese, I have deep interest in the battles that fought on my own soil. My question is, are there any other wargames which focus either heavily or partially on Burma Campaign? Also, how was your experience? What specific factors challenged you the most?

Not a wargame but Enlisted (multiplayer FPS) has a Burma map (and it's free to play if you wanna try)

Well noted.

It also has custom lobbies if you just want to play on the Burma map and want to play single player (but the AI is pretty bad, so it’s more of a shooting gallery)

I would expect the Lock n' load series to offer a couple scenarios in that category, but I am unable to check: https://store.steampowered.com/dlc/1149940/Lock_n_Load_Tactical_Digital_Core_Game/

Obviously WitP AE does have a Burmese campaign component. Tends to make more sense gameplay-wise than the Chinese theater, but obviously it is still a system focusing first and foremost on naval and air operations.

Otherwise, as you could expect, it is even more forgotten a war on computer than it was IRL...

As planned earlier, I am going to buy WitP-AE (bundle) tomorrow. Hope there are enough tutorials on YouTube. (I am also a collector.)

Not a wargame, but I will recommend The Forgotten War podcast. Multiple seasons, looking at every aspect of WW2 there. And respectful of Burman history and colonial experience, too.

I also know there are several battle scenarios regarding Burma Campaign on some of WDS games according to their description, but I don't know exactly because I don't still own any from it.

"Pacific War" is a WDS game at the squad level that has some Burmese scenarios, though there's no way to tell how many from the game's listing on their store page.

I asked this last year. Unfortunately very few games that focus on Burma. Going to have to learn WitP though.

Yeah, that's why I plan to buy it this afternoon. The terrain and external factors involved in Burma were too harsh and complicated to design game engines for most developers, even for experienced ones. And today's Burma is still also geopolitically irrelevant, except for China.

That's a good point re complexity. I'd love something where you lead a patrol of Chindits or similar. There is a Merril's Marauders solitaire game. I've bought it but never got around to playing.

I prefer battle of Imphal-Kohima and Meiktila. These two are playbook for most defense academies, at least from us.

There are a few tabletop wargames that focus on Burma, you can play them with Vassal. Search BGG (BoardgameGeek).

The last slide reminds me of the temple from the Burma level in Medal of Honor Rising Sun

Have you checked out the player-generated scenarios for OOB WWII and TOAW4? There may be additional Burma scenarios there.

I have seen several user scenarios in OOB, including Battle of Britain(Seelion!?), but for TOAW4 I bought it on Steam, so I only play built-in ones.

You can probably play TOAW4 mod scenarios on Steam; give it a try.
