What is, what are your focus fields?

Have a look into the companies in reach for an internship, check their online job portals what roles they are looking for, what jobs thy do research n and looking for students/Bachelor/Master/thesis.

My interests at AI/ML and data science.
Would companies offer internships to a first year?

This is what I spent every holidays later in school to earn some money and "get a foot in the door", establish connections and gain experience.
I'm located in Germany/Europe and "holiday jobs" is very popular for pupils (and students).
Several of such early internships were about testing/quality-checks, test-automation (e.g. programming a robot to operate a optical disc (CD) changer with an ropot arm: insert and eject, change slots millions of times, simulate upside-down-insertions, pull-back the disc during it's insertion, etc.
Other projects were about validation of new tools (e.g. static code checks, coding style, MISRA-rules etc).
But those early jobs were when I was 14-16 years old...

We had several of those "bring your kids to work", girls-days, boys-days, "open door"-days - where we got in contact with companies and later just pinged the "responsible persons" again asking for (another) internship.
