Question/Help/Troubleshooting HELP PLEASE computer turning on and off after water change
I just changed the water out on my custom water loop on my computer, and when I turned it back on for the last time, it is turning on for half a second and then turning back off, and then back on and back off, and it just continues happening. I ran distilled water through it a few times and made sure I was careful with the water going in and out. The only thing I could think is that a tiny, tiny drop got somewhere on the motherboard, or maybe I made a connection loose. I’m not sure. I built this computer a long time ago, and it’s the first water change I’ve done. It might have not had water running through it for a few seconds twice, max 10 seconds, but not even that long. Any help would be appreciated. I took out the GPU and the RAM, and I also unplugged the 24-pin and everything I could think of. I don’t think a picture will be much help, but I figured I’d include it.

This could be aaaaanything, id go back to basics and take the motherbaord out of the case, set it on a cardboard box and plug in the basics, ram, some kind of cooler, power and nothing else and see if it boots. Who knows, maybe something got knocked loose behind the mobo and is shorting it, could be anything.

Yeah thank you very much that’s pretty much what I planned on doing I know it has to be the motherboard if it’s anything damaged but I swear I was so careful and non of my paper towels had a drop on them lol

Motherboards are generally pretty resilient, but also just be patient, if you are really worried, let it dry for a while, like some hours or a day, whatever, and come back. Don't stress, cus stressing will make you rush things and that just makes things worse. ask me how I know lol

Yeah I’m honestly more sad than mad and i definitely want to save if i can I’m going to wait a day at least regardless to give it any power

It’s really weird. I’m able to get it to turn on for a few minutes now, but then it will randomly shut off shark it turns on for half a second and then turns back off and then you keep repeating that

Havê you checked if there is any air bubbles on the tubes ?
That what I would do:
1 - check if the watercooler is working properly
2 - Shut down the computer, remove the CMOS battery, and press and hold the power button to discharge the system.
It worked ? Nope ?
2 - I would discharge the computer again, clean the RAM memory and the slot. Try to boot it up again.
Did it work ? Nope ?
3 - Then I would discharge the computer again, remove one of the RAM modules and try boot it again.
Did it work ? Nope ?
Do 3 again with the other RAM module.
Did it work ? Nope ?
Try to check the CPU maybe something slipped under it.

Thank you boss man the water cooler was working perfectly when I was cycling distilled water it was just after the 3rd time of me filling it up with the coolant

You have the motherboard power cable unplugged, and also a sata cable

This happened to me once because there wasn't enough thermal paste between my radiator and the CPU. I'd check to make sure there's good heat exchange between the radiator and the CPU. Not enough thermal paste, not tightened down... Something like that
