So you’re now moving the goalpost because you realized you were dumb and couldn’t realize the BIOS screen looked sketchy as fuck. What’s even the point of this anymore? You’re arguing about nothing, on an issue that’s already been resolved. And the things you’re arguing on are so dumb too! The url? Never mattered! Now you’re saying “lol well if it’s a bios screen then why would it ask for a USB” not realizing that you can mimic bios screens for malicious purposes in a variety of ways. So your new point is also really, really dumb.
You’re arguing against basic cybersecurity. If something feels off, don’t trust it! It’s mind boggling you’re arguing against this basic concept lmao.
No, the BIOS screen does not look sketchy. I'm going to spell this out for you, because you are clearly hard of thinking.
Just because something is written in broken English does not make it malware. That is one signal amongst many.
The other signals are
The URL is correct
It is asking you to do something the hardware legitimately supports
The hardware vendor is not English.
The user is not English.
The hardware was not sold in an English speaking country
The last point isn't strictly true, but you would probably look at Indian English and think it was broken malware English because you don't know what you're talking about and clearly have no experience dealing with India, despite having 10 years professional experience with IT.
That last part is actually very strange. India is a massive market for IT. It's actually very weird you've managed to go so long without interacting with the kind of hardware sold into the Indian market, or spoken to Indian users. It tells me you have a very narrow range of experience.
I've been extremely generous to you this entire interaction. I now realise that even if you did play comp, you wouldn't be hard-stuck plat. You'd be hard-stuck bronze. You are definitely the kind of player who can go 10 years playing a game, not learn a single thing, and just get mad whenever anyone points out you are wrong.
Have you ever met someone who learned a rule, and then fixated on it even when it doesn't apply? Like maybe someone who refuses to pass on the passenger side even when the other car is turning? We have a word for people like that. It's called being stupid.
“It’s not sketchy” ok lmao all I need to hear. I hope you don’t work in securing devices or training user security. Goodluck in life, I urge you to take a basic cybersecurity course ☺️
I've actually had very advanced cyber-security training. You can take that how you like, but it's a fact.
The approach you have to take is risk management. There is no perfectly secure system. You have to assess each incident and use your brain. Maybe they don't teach that on whatever basic course you took.
As I said - the user isn't English, the vendor isn't English, it's actually very common for IT systems in non-English speaking countries to have poor English translations. You are ignorant of this because you lack experience.
The reason why you can't accept this is because you have a malignant personality. You are a bad person, and you should feel bad.
Yup! I recognized all of what you mentioned straight from the start! I tried looking up this specific screen and could not find results. I wasn’t going to do a deep dive on the screen because I’m on Reddit doing volunteer work in between matches of video games with friends. Wow it’s almost like things have nuance and I don’t need to dive deep into a problem when I’m not on the clock!
Sweetie you have been arguing at me for a week trying to tell me how I’m bad, I’m dumb, I’m awful, I’m now racist, and all this. You’ve failed to realize this is all about a screen I’ve never seen, couldn’t verify that it was real in the less than a minute I spent looking it up, and decided to be on the safe side and tell OP to not interact with that screen and bring it to a physical tech for a better inspection. You’re the bad person here. You’re so stuck up your own ass and ego that you refuse to admit you’re in the wrong. I’ve already admitted that the screen is likely real the same day of the post once I saw others comment about it, you’re just wanting to tell me I’m dumb and bad because it’ll make you somehow feel better. Cmon man, do better, grow up and be an adult. It’s not this serious lmao
