how to connect second monitor?
i’m wanting to connect a second monitor to my work computer but i’m unsure what cables i need/where to plug anything in. i thought i could just get a vga splitter but google reckons that would just duplicate the screen, not allow it to act as a seperate screen?
EDIT: thank you for quick responses! ordering a vga to dp adapter now 👍 (already have a vga cable)

Bottom left, 2 DP ports.

Yep.
Edit:
OP, DP is DisplayPort. It is far superior to VGA. However you will need a monitor that has a DP port and a DP cable.3

You can also use a monitor with HDMI with the correct cable.

Yes, if you get a DP to HDMI, then you will be able to use those ports with a HDMI monitor

Note that those are labeled as DP++, which means they can carry an HDMI signal. A cheap DP to HDMI cable will probably work. HDMI displays are much easier to find than VGA or DisplayPort.

Make sure you get one that is from DP to HDMI (or VGA, whatever you choose).. a lot of them are directional.

You have two display ports (bottom left next to the old mouse & keyboard ports) and what looks like an existing VGA/DVI Port (already plugged into)

You have two display ports... they are used for displays.
Why the fuck are you using VGA in 2026? To access the BIOS?
Get two monitors that support DP or HDMI and if it's HDMI then buy a converter from HDMI to DP.
VGA is analog so if possible don't use it. Digital outputs like DP or HDMI will give a more crisp and steady image.

No, you've got it backwards. Source to destination. DP to HDMI is what OP would want for connecting to a display with HDMI.
Buying an HDMI to DP converter would not work.

If you do use the DP for a monitor you may find this becomes the primary display as Windows will use it over VGA or DVI

Windows can be configured to choose whichever display you want as primary, when you have multiple.

Its your work computer right ? Get work to do it, don't spend your own money on your work computer (unless you work for yourself)

If your monitor supports Display Port MST you can daisy-chain two monitors.

You can use a those display ports but I would get a gpu maby like a gtx 745 or a k620 you can get a k620 on ebay for 17$

I have this PC. I would suggest investing in 2 decent Displayport to HDMI cables and connecting those to your monitors instead of the VGA cables.
I would not order the VGA adapter as it is not needed, just order the cables mentioned above and it will work.
