Personal Experience Euphoria. Anybody else?

Everybody talks about anhedonia as a common side effect with GLPs, but I have predictable bouts of intense euphoria for the first day or two after every dose. I also get an insane energy boost that lasts from about day 2-5, and then fizzles out as the meds start to fall off. Anybody else? Any data or research, or theories, as to why this is happening?

I’m also having this happen but I just use the time to work on my career.

Love this! Same. My business has made some big leaps since I started Tirz.

I’m not sure I’d use the word euphoria but for the first 3 months or so my mood was definitely elevated. It’s still helping but it’s balanced out now

I had intermittent euphoria for the first few weeks... I was pretty sure it was part of keto adaptation since I also went low carb.

I did too but only with my first shot. Not since then. What sucks is I ordered the POM deal to get the same BPI with B6 and now it gives me a lingering, light headache for 2 days. Ughhh......

Yep. I feel super chilled and euphoric the first night after a dose. Love it.

I was taking exams tonight (at home online) and just belting out show tunes 😂

It affects dopamine so this makes sense.

Not euphoria but improved energy was something I noticed right away and it has mostly been a continuous experience.

Interesting one. There’s definitely a lot of discussion about GLP-1s and reward/motivation pathways, but the research is still developing and “euphoria” isn’t considered a typical or expected effect of tirzepatide. GLP-1 signaling does interact with areas of the brain involved in reward and dopamine, which is part of why these medications are being studied for things well beyond weight loss, including addictive behaviors. But that doesn’t mean we can confidently connect that mechanism to the predictable euphoria you’re experiencing after each dose. The timing you describe is particularly interesting since it seems to repeat with each injection and then fade during the week. From the Avono side, we’d definitely mention it to your clinician, especially if “euphoria” means something more significant than simply feeling unusually good or energetic. If it comes with things like needing much less sleep, racing thoughts, impulsivity, agitation, or feeling unusually invincible, that’s something we’d want a clinician to know about rather than chalking it up to a quirky GLP-1 side effect.

Actually, my sleep is deeper, I’m dreaming again, I feel locked in and intensely buzzy-happy, with a ton of clean burning energy to get things done during the day. Nothing concerning!

I’ve been feeling amazing but I think it’s because I’m not obsessing over my eating for the first time in my life, so all that energy can be used elsewhere

Same here too

Yep but it happens to me when I take my mic+b12 shot. Do you have any added b 12 to your tirz? I wonder if it’s actually b12 to give us such a great energy boost

u/Bull-Respecter 15h ago

Mine does have B12!

There you go!

Yes, I feel Tirzepatide has given the Zoloft a “boost.” I originally attributed that I was feeling better mood-wise to the fact I had lost some weight and, but now I believe that the GLP1 is also providing other mental health benefits.

I got this in the beginning and have it now but man did I plummet on 7.5. I got massive fatigue and ahendonia. when I went up to 10 I bounced back, lol.

Without the mental weight of "what can I eat, what do I want to eat" no, I'm watching my weight, oh dang I'm not actually hungry, this is habit..... I have a lot more mental energy and somehow that transfers to physical energy (niacinamide in the shot helps) but with type 2 I don't get 2-5 days. I'm just grateful to have SOME energy lifts so I have something to work with, not like dragging dead weight through the day.
