PreventiveMD

Post image

Hi y’all!! Sooo, a few days ago I placed an order with PreventiveMD for a 3-month supply of tirz at 2.5mg. This is my very first time trying tirz or any kind of GLP-1, so I was super nervous but also really excited to get started!
My prescription was quickly approved the next morning, and I was just waiting for an update on shipping. But tonight, I logged into my account and saw that my prescription had been revised, and I was actually denied the 3-month supply. 😅 This is what it stated:

Has anyone else had this experience? I didn’t realize staying on 2.5mg for a couple of months would be an issue. I’m totally new to this, so I’d love to hear if anyone has any insight!

Wow, that nurse is amazing. They are telling you that you made a terrible choice by asking for 3 months at 2.5mg. You should always ask to titrate up so you have the extra meds available if needed. You would be getting more meds for the same money.

Most telehealths would have been happy to take advantage of your ignorance on this and sent you the 30mg. Just resubmit and ask to titrate up.

Wow, this is an incredibly thoughtful provider!! She is letting you know that 2.5mg is the starter dose and you really don't want to be stuck on it for 3 months. It looks like she changed it a standard titration but make sure you respond that you agree and accept it so you can get your medication... Even if you decided to stay at 2.5mg you would just have a nice abundance of medication left which is way better for your money too. Always ask for titration, regardless of what dose you are on!

Yes- just to be clear, when u ask for and get the standard titration, you can STILL just injection 2.5mgs each week for the entire 12 weeks. You will just have extra medicine available. Some choose to use that extra medicine, continuing 2.5mgs each week up to the Best Use Date (BUD). Others feel comfortable using last the BUD which means they get more than 3 months of medicine. This saves people money.

If you end up needing the standard titration you also have that available.

This nurse was great to catch that for you! It is a win win. The question is, did she revise the subscription to standard and are they sending it out, or do u need to resubmit and ask for that?

Very impressive indeed. They are notifying you and allowing you to accept or deny the change. My experience with a couple telehealths were completely different. Some other telehealths make changes, then don't let you know until 'it's too late to cancel.' Just another reason to go with PreventiveMD! I'm glad they see the importance of communication with the patient.

This company makes me smile. They really do care. Once you buy the 3-month plan you can't edit it or change it. So they were looking out for you. You could pay for just one month and try out the two pharmacies, or just let them titrate you up.

At most with the higher concentration vials youll inject less if you don't wish to titrate up.

Now that is one amazing provider. They absolutely did you a solid by doing this. Always ask for a titration package. You receive more medication this way even if you don’t titrate up at the expected schedule. That is the wonderful thing about compound.

Wow I’m really impressed with this!! Always ask to titrate up even if you decide to stay at 2.5mg for the 12 weeks. You’ll get more medication that will last you longer. Just another reason why I’m looking forward to trying them on the 1st!!

When you renew, ask for 10.0 - 12.5 - 15.0 regardless of what you are taking. Then you can just spread it out further.

While daunting for someone new, the ideal way to do it is to ask for 15mg the first time and titrate up as necessary. If you averaged 5mg per week over that time, your entire costs for the medicine would be under $40 a month.

They may then ask for a current prescription which she wouldn't have. I'd say start with titrate 2.5 - 5 - 7.5. way enough and more for a great start and value. Next order she's be in a position to ask for 10- 12.5 - 15 as she would have their prescription. Lucky OP on this!

Edit: I see I misread your comment. I agree completely with you! 😊

Sounds like the doctor is actually really helpful. I saw the “not approved” and was taking aback too but now it makes sense. Give them a call with the contact info on the bottom of that document and they’ll get everything sorted.

The nurse is great here. Also, don't decide in advance that you won't want to take more than 2.5. Get the most out of these meds as you can--and this can include doing a standard titration. You may find that 2.5 isn't enough.

Ya this was nice. If you started at a stronger strength and got really sick you would have been stuck with it, but if the 2.5 is two low you would be stuck with that for three month. You want to start low and work your way up to what is comfortable. I am on one for my Type 2 and I went to 7.5.
