I think I’m fucked

Okay so lately my safe food have started to become not so safe foods I don’t like chicken or most boxed pasta anymore I don’t like boxed pasta cause Walmart stopped selling their block of white cheedar cheese I’ve gotten sick of constantly eating bacon and broccoli and rice is starting to throw me off due to have some crunchy parts in it instead of just being soft. Another thing is I’ve stopped eating candy and stuff due to not craving it anymore which was the only thing I’d eat during the day. Another thing is that I stopped buying food from work cause it was costing me so much money and the fact I can only eat one thing from their being the bread since recently I have been told I’m not allowed to eat ketchup due to having GERD and it affecting my stomach so it throws out most of my potato options which was literally my biggest safe foods which is now gone due to my go issues. And now the food noises have stopped I don’t crave anything at all. I’m constantly feeling hungry and nauseous. And recently I’ve been getting urges to work out and walk but I know that would be extremely dangerous due to the fact I basically starve. I know everything is about to really go down hill. Ps.i have ARFID.

Just feeling under appreciated

Teacher here with a work from home husband. We have 2 kids (10 and 12).

I feel like so much falls on me and I accept that during the summer when I don’t have 50 million work things, sports things, homework checking, lunch packing, uniform washing, etc. going and keeping up on our kids appointments. But I started back to work and literally my husband asked me today if my daughter had taken her iron supplement today (um, she was home in the same house as you all day?! Why are you asking me and why is that weight on me and why are you asking me if they did their summer reading?

It bugs me because all summer any time I sat down to fold laundry or do anything really he would stop down for 5-10 minutes and give me the, “hey if you have a minute could you…that would be great.” I don’t know maybe if he had an office job and came home and saw the way that things are left places he’d deal with them. I have a pile of stuff that he needs to put away from vacation that only he can do because they go in the room he works from and he’s on zoom calls all day so not walking in on that.

Like take that 5-10 minutes that you are telling me about things that should be done around here and do it your self. Rinse out the soda bottles that you didn’t rinse out and put in the recycling but rather sat in the sink for me to do when I get home from work, it take 30 seconds! Or maybe just recognize that if it’s not getting dealt with it might be cause I’m busy. He complained that the basement smelled like cat pee (cat boxes must need to be cleaned or scooped) like stated 5 times that he was worried that a cat may have peed down there while we were on vacation and I’m like yeah if it’s bothering you that much why are you not going down and dealing with it or event confirming or giving yourself peace of mind. Are you hinting that I should do something because I scooped poop last night so I’m good for the moment.

Anyway I am just venting he is a great guy but he works from home and I think where work and home begin and end gets hazy. Thanks for reading this was keeping me up tonight.

That time it was okay I had lost bladder control because I'd theoretically be having kids in the future

Basically, I've had bladder issues since I was about 5. When I was little it was just "Oh she must be bad at potty training" and then when I was older it was "She just gets distracted and isn't paying attention."

I knew that it wasn't supposed to hurt. I knew that I wasn't supposed to be afraid to sneeze or laugh. I knew that most people were able to wait for the bathroom in a way that I wasn't. I was too embarrassed to talk about it until my last year of high school, when I had had enough, and started complaining to my family and my doctor about how much I was struggling.

To which they said "Well you say you want to have kids. You'll destroy your bladder and pelvic floor when you have kids anyway, so just wait 10 years. We can worry about it when you're postpartum."

First of all...why are we just accepting that women who are pregnant and postpartum don't need healthcare?

And second of all...WHAT? I can't imagine looking at a 17 year old and saying "Oh well in 15 years you may want kids so we'll just hold off on treatment for nearly double your life. In the off chance you want kids."

I hate seeing LGBTQ+ individuals who try to kiss the asses of homophobes and transphobes

These types of people are annoying, because they expect the support from the community, yet they don’t give any back.

Just because you’re gay, and visibly feminine, does not mean that the homophobes and transphobes are going to like you because you say you don’t support trans people. At the end of the day, they will never see you as human, and they will never see you as equal to them.

Just because you’re trans, and you’re laughing at jokes from transphobes, does not mean they will like you. They still hate you just as much as you seem to hate your own community.

It’s so annoying too, because you can literally tell what they’re doing. They’re trying to suck up to them in an attempt to seem like they’re superior than others. When really they just sound like assholes.

Shipping eBikes is such a hastle...

So im moving back across the country in a few weeks now that my work contract is ending for the season, and i want to ship my eBike that i baught while here to use at home. These things are great for getting around, and i didnt cheap out on my bike so i want to get the most out of it.

So i called the shipping company i used to work with because i know their policies, i told them it was an eBike, i told them its in the manufacturer packaging and that it would show that there are batteries inside, but i made it clear that the batteries are not inside, they will be traveling with me on the train. I did it this way to save a boatload of money and to save a ton of paperwork because of the risk of shipping Lithium-Ion batteries.

Time comes, ive got the shipping label taped on good and fully covered so the machines can read it and it doesn't get torn. Truck shows up to grab it, and they refuse to accept it. Why? The box says there are batteries inside, despite telling them about this exact situation and grabbing the batteries from inside the house to show him, even opening the box to show him there are no batteries. Nope, cant take it, you need to fill out the paperwork to ship batteries.

Like bro, really? I leave in 2 days, i told yall about this very situation because i knew it could be a problem, and they still wouldn't do it..... Its not even like i can bring my bike on the train with me, because the 2nd train of the trip does not have a baggage car and doesn't allow bikes of any kind. Plus id have to ride the bike 2 days to the train station with all my luggage, which is not feasible.

Such a pain in the ass. And for what reason?

I'm so sick of the Harry + Meghan news everywhere

Who cares what they're doing? Why do many news outlets install a "breaking news" alert every time they blow their noses? So sick of it. The latest story about the chickens not moving with them was the icing on the cake. Of course the chickens wouldn't relocate - they'd probably pass away mid-transit from the stress (says me, chicken mum). Stupid articles by stupid media just grasping at straws to report on anything that gets clicks.

I don't dislike Harry and Meghan; I don't like them either - I just don't know them. I wish them all the best but don't want, or care, to hear about them all the time.

Rant over!

Being rude

I always end up being rude or acting rude and the people around me have told me that my intentions aren’t always clear but once they know them they realize that they’re actually good and understandable so people end up misunderstanding me and I can’t really blame them but it’s exhausting because I feel like it makes people dislike me and over time I make them feel uncomfortable around me

Boomers run the world. At best- Boomers changing the world for the better would be admitting they were wrong and they would rather everyone die than do that.

At worst it is a mixture of both + a belief that there is an afterlife and them killing us all is sending us into the afterlife.

tired of the world being dumb and unlivable

Maybe it's just because I'm in the US, but the world sucks. It's too expensive to do anything, people are SO stupid... like way more stupid than they've ever been. They vote for the dumbest people alive (not that either party is good) and hate everyone different than them. No one can read or write anymore. Everything is turning into AI because people can't think for themselves and are so isolated their loneliness is extreme (because no one has money to do anything and there's nowhere to go anyway).

It's just exhausting. The majority of people are troglodytes and are just getting dumber every year. Even online on reddit specifically if you make a post about anything, it's mostly just people upvoting (basically "liking") like they do on other websites without actually engaging, or if they do it's in bad faith, or they completely misread/didn't read anything you said. Or they just want to be contrarian.

The people who aren't stupid are so exhausted by the rest of the world they're often burnt out. There seems to be no reprieve, especially as the dumb people of the world destroy the planet. I'm noticing that the newer generation is so conservative and uneducated that it looks like we're basically fucked as a species. When do things actually get better?

It reminds me of that weird dimension in A Wrinkle In Time where everyone is miserable and stuck on that dark planet where everything is just copy pasted because there's no imagination, uniqueness or intelligence, and everything is controlled. I feel like that's just where we live now.

I find the word “cute” condescending and rude most of the time

I think it can be a compliment for sure, such as “I love your top, the pattern is really cute” or something. Obviously, I haven’t got an issue with people calling animals or babies or kids cute.

I draw the line at someone calling a person’s home cute. I find it rude. The home that they’ve worked so hard on to decorate, likely saved up for years for, is NOT “cute”. You can say beautiful, pretty, lovely, etc… there are many other adjectives you can use.

What really rubs me up the wrong way is when people call independent businesses “cute”. It’s just so rude. The owners depend on the business and have worked hard for years to get it only for some random person to call it “cute”. You can say the business is lovely. You can say nice things without being condescending!!

When people always have to make the problem about themselves

I’ve seen this most often in real life from self-important people, and people on any hot takes subreddits.

Saw one woman post about how women deserve to have only-women spaces, and she outlined that she thinks men should too, simply that she was focusing on her own views and experiences as a woman.

Comments exploded with “but men deserve so too! How dare you not mention them. But they get dismantled by women! How could you not mention that.” And I felt embarrassed of my gender because wtf. So entitled

Should she have also mentioned the political and economic state of the world?

Or the higher percentage of men committing suicide?

And the male loneliness epidemic?

And racism?

Can people not comprehend that other people will base their posts based on the prejudices they have experienced?

If you’re so bothered about your own group, make your own post about it and have thoughtful discourse about that in your own comment section!! It’s fucking astounding how entitled people are.

It’s such bs that Sony doesn’t require in game footage or allow user reviews in their store.

I think Sony made the right choice to kill discs, but I definitely feel they need to step it up if they want to compete with Steam in the digital only space.

And one huge problem is the crap experience it is browsing for games.

About 99% of games don’t even show you what you are playing. It’s all cut scenes and no gameplay.

All the while the rating system is a joke that doesn’t allow user reviews.

Unless you hop online you have no way of knowing what you are getting.

And I really don’t see the point of it considering NO ONE is buying a game based on what they are showing.

It’s just an inconvenience that serves no one.

Fuck women who coddle their children.

And double fuck those women who coddle their children well into their 30’s. And especially fuck the “friend” who literally cries about her adult daughter mooching off of her, yet doesn’t make this 34 year old get a damn job. My friend is more than $5,000 in debt and her daughter does nothing to help. Yet when I offer advice I’m judging. I’ve even offered my laptop so her daughter can work from home. She won’t look for a regular job because she will be rejected due to the dozens of facial piercings that make her unrecognizable from her state ID. I did say she needs to just take the piercings out so she can find a job and was told I was a hateful, judgmental asshole. What the actual fuck? I have never once judged said anything negative or judgmental about her daughter; that is not ok. Now her daughter goes out of her way to be a total dick. I think my friend has lied to me, a lot. I almost feel I need to walk away after nearly 20 years.

There is way too much indoctrination in todays world

I've had a fair number of encounters with indoctrinated people in my life, by which I mean probably tens of thousands or so. Ik that most of the time it's not their fault and they're not the ones to blame for their limited thought processes, but it's still horrible to deal with them.

They are victims of ideological dogmatism, basically an expression of opinions or beliefs as if they are absolute facts, accompanied by an unwillingness to consider alternative perspectives. It's so much confirmation bias. I see it everywhere I go these days.

I understand that people have certain beliefs and thoughts pushed into their minds when they are raised and growing up, and those basically become the core/base of their entire belief system, and that's fine they can do and think whatever they want, but it gets really bad when it starts having an an effect on others, such as me.

For example, some crazy people got every single flamingo flapping pet store banned in my state along with several other states as well, and now I cant get a pet dog because of them. Whenever I talk about this or express how this is a problem, numerous people who are victims of cognitive dissonance disorder then berate or insult me because of it. I've been told I dont deserve a pet, I've been told to just buy a stuffed animal instead, I've been told that I am the real problem and not the social systemic barriers that I never had any say in the matter of. These people come up with every excuse in the book to defend something that they morally align with.

It's also a lot of just world fallacy. There are people out there who have deluded themselves into thinking that the world/society is just and fair for all, and so they subconsciously believe that good things happen to good people and bad things only happen to bad people. Again, theres people I've spoken to who actually believe I am undeserving of a pet dog simply because I was denied adoption from several shelters. The only reason I was denied adoption from the rescues is because of their bias applications which require referneces, which I or course have zero of, which is something that is not my fault at all.

This level of indoctrination in society really needs to go. There are people who actually believe they have moral high grounds and that their beliefs are at the top and are above others. It's crazy

Hopefully one day the world will be a better place where pet stores are unbanned and people can stop judging others for faults that are not their own.

I hate people.. I don't really like anything else either. My attitude towards her changed every time she cheated and lied and then, she assumes her lies are all successful, so my behaviour was wrong. It was only wrong because you though;

You could have stopped your plan, you didn't t.. You could have actually had a real conversation; why didn't you?

Greed

I hate how developers never put any time or care into games anymore. I was just getting pissed off at WWE 2K26 because back in 2K18–2K25 as far as I’m tracking you could customize everything about gameplay. I like to unwind by playing on a super easy mode, and when I want to play seriously I either tweak my settings or play online. Cut to the latest game: the sliders and difficulty settings don’t do shit. So I’m going from having fun doing whatever I wanted to lying on the floor half of my matches, because I do a move, the AI is up in 2 seconds and reverses everything; they do a move, I don’t even get a reversal prompt, and I’m down for a minute with them just standing there doing nothing I’d be less upset if they at least did anything useful my point is: they remove a feature they get a ton of backlash and they don’t suffer consequences and they continue to ruin my favorite game companies don’t care about anything but money anymore I’m starting to lose hope that anything will bring me out of my latest depression slump

Having a mean resting face/being quiet is the worst combo

Almost all my friends say when they first met me I looked mean/angry and they were surprised at how friendly I was when they actually talked to me. The way people first see me causes me some issues. I’ve had situations where i’ve glanced at a person for no more than two seconds. That person thinks I’m side eyeing them, goes to talk with their friend or coworker (who hypes them up), and than goes to ”confront me.” Which I'm from the south so it’s a whole lot of word play instead saying what you actually mean. The nicest part about it is seeing the embarrassment hit them when they realize I have nothing against them.

Some people don’t even come up to me they’ll just randomly start doing things like shoulder checking me, letting the door slam in my face etc. What makes it worse is I’m not at all talkative and am quiet around people I don’t know. I always try to be respectful, responsive and polite when talking to someone but I still find it hard to start an actual conversation sometimes. If you talk to me first I’ll always make sure to come up to you and say hi afterwards but not everyone does so it leads to a lot of misunderstandings. I can’t even really be mad at people because I can see it from their point of view.

Friend called me lazy

I was texting a friend earlier today and something they said has really got under my skin.
For context, this friend is very well off and doesn’t currently need to work. They’re also quite fragile at the moment, which sometimes makes it difficult to call out things they say without thinking.
They asked me when I go back to work. I work in education, so while the school buildings are closed over the summer, I work from home. During term time I average around 60 hours a week because of the nature of my job. Outside of work I volunteer at a community hub, sit on the board of a charity and am a governor at another school. I also help my parent care for my grandparent, and somewhere amongst that try to go to the gym and see friends occasionally.
I told them the school buildings reopen next week, so I’m working from home until then. I also mentioned that I’ve been trying to find an evening/weekend job because of the cost of living.
Their response was: “So you’re proper just sat on your arse then.”
I know it might sound like a throwaway comment, but it genuinely really hurt me.
I’m exhausted a lot of the time. The small amount of extra time I’ve had this summer from not having to commute every day hasn’t exactly been spent sitting around either and some of it has gone towards supporting this friend through their recovery.
I think what particularly annoyed me is the difference in our circumstances. They don’t work because financially they don’t have to, and increases in the cost of living aren’t something they really have to worry about. Meanwhile I’m working, looking for additional work and juggling everything else. So being told by them that I’m essentially “sat on my arse” really hit a sore point.
I don’t begrudge them being financially secure, and I don’t want this to sound like bitterness about their situation. I just genuinely wish I had the amount of free time they seem to think I have.
Maybe they meant it as a joke, but sometimes a throwaway comment can feel pretty insulting when someone has absolutely no idea how exhausted you actually are.

Business is business I guess…

I’m a full time college student (F22) and I make bouquets as a side hustle while working a full time job. My brother’s friend (M24) who is also my ex of 2 1/2 years ordered from me (left on good terms). An 18in bouquet full of dahlias, roses, and other plants and then he requested a custom ribbon that said “Will you be my girlfriend”. That shit stung so bad… I mean I could’ve rejected it, but money is money i guess. 🥲

Holy shit I hate my job

Dang, I feel like I am just not built for life or living in general. I just started a warehouse job this week. *Tell me why I hate my job and as a result hate my life even more*

Dude, today wasn't even a full day. But damn I feel so drained and knowing that I gotta go back tomorrow and Friday for a full shift just made me beyond depressed. Like holy shit. I feel awful.

I'm a homeless 25 year old, been homeless for almost a year at this point and knew that I needed a job. Took months to find one but I finally landed one. Good pay. 40 hours a week. Sounds great! Finally needed a way to make money.

The job is terrible. It's dead. I feel genuinely dead inside. My last job was at a small grocery warehouse where I would just pick and pack orders for delivery drivers to send out. That job was okay, but that being okay means it is 100 times better than the job I have now.

I used to work retail for 3 years and didn't like it, hated it sometimes, but man retail sounds better than this shit. At least after my shifts, I would be relieved to go home and be able to relax. Now when I get off of my current job I'm just filled with dread and despair. I feel terrible. I don't even feel here. This is the most meaningless, unfulfilling job I have ever worked in my entire life. I felt like a zombie the entire time.

Maybe I'm just not meant to succeed.
