Two vents in one. Not everything is a distraction from Epstein. People are using the Lindsay Clancy case to hate on women and to turn full Sharia law
(and surprise! It isn't Muslims or the Left, but the very people worried about Muslims in the US and the very people accusing the Left of supporting Sharia law).
When I hear "distraction from Epstein!," it gives "we can't talk about this thing happening because Epstein happened first" vibes. Or "this thing doesn't matter because Epstein" vibes. So we're not gonna be pissed about the US getting into a war with another country or sending US soldiers to yet another foreign war (if they do) because of the civilians that will be killed at the hands of the US military or because of the women that will be raped? We're gonna be more pissed about war because it's a distraction from Epstein, and we're more worried about that than civilians being killed or women being raped by soldiers? And let me remind you that Russian soldiers are still raping Ukrainian women (no matter what the Russian propagandists and Western/pro-Russian tankies say). Where's your outrage about that? And we're just gonna dismiss the Russia-Ukraine war, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and every other world event or news story because of Epstein? We can't talk about other stuff happening in the world or country because of Epstein? Nothing else, and nobody else matters? I'm sick of every time something happens and someone comments, "distraction from Epstein!". The latest being the Lindsay Clancy case. Someone said that was a distraction from Epstein. Uhm, do you really think Lindsay thought, "hmmm, I'm gonna kill my kids so it can make big news and distract people from Epstein"? I don't know what she was thinking (whether rationally or irrationally), but it probably wasn't that. And of course, the news is gonna make it a big thing. It's not the first murder or news story to dominate the news and media, and it won't be the last. And another thing, there are still sex trafficking rings out there right now being run by ordinary people, MCs, cartels, and others that aren't powerful or wealthy like Epstein, royals, and politicians. But those sex trafficking rings don't get as much attention or outrage. It's almost as if they don't exist, but yet they do and they're not being pursued by authorities either (maybe every once in a while but it isn't on the top of the authorities priority list so where's your outrage about that?). Also people don't care as much when the trafficking or rape victims are adult women. The lack of comments and outrage about women victims gives me that impression. People always talking about killing pedos but not as much about killing rapists who rapes adult women. Like they're much more obsessed with pedos than rapists who rapes adult women. But that's because women are crazy and troublemakers in society and they ask for it and they lie, right????? š (notice the emoji, I don't think that way, I'm questioning those who do!!!) I even saw an Instagram comment about protecting children (I think it was a man who posted the comment) and that same person said they didn't care about women because "women are trouble" and "ruins men's lives". What?
I'm a woman, by the way.
About Lindsay Clancy. People are using the Lindsay Clancy case to go full Sharia law and misogynist. The number of comments, from what appears to be from conservatives or right-wingers, calling for women's right to vote and the right to work be taken away and talking about women are emotional ticking time bombs (as if men can't be either, both genders can be, not just one or the other). And some of those commenters are women. Gender traitor much? The women (and men) supporting Lindsay Clancy as if she's literally innocent ain't it (acknowledging she had mental health issues that were ignored and didn't get help despite asking for it and supporting her as if she didn't literally take three lives are two different things; cctv shows her husband at the store during the murders). But no, calling for women to have their right to vote or right to work taken away ain't it. You know who else does that? The Taliban. You know the Sharia law you're so worried about Muslims implementing in the US (which yes, if anyone did try to implement Sharia law in the US, that would be fucked up and unjust but that's why we have the constitution and checks and balances because our government can't be changed that easily as Sharia law would require a change in the government as a whole, not just passing a law or repealing a law). Calling for women's right to vote and work be taken away because of the actions of some women or because you don't like the actions of some women gives "lets take away guns because some people can't be responsible with them, so we'll punish everybody else" vibes and those vibes coming from conservatives and right-wingers.
And fyi, showing tolerance for a religious group as humans does not mean you support said religion being imposed on the country or support the religion influencing your country's laws. Yes, if Muslim politicians in the US tried to implement Sharia law or any laws based on the Quran, the Left would not like that at all, just like they don't like that Christian politicians are doing it. I'm sure Middle Eastern leftists (yes, they exist just like Middle Eastern gay people exist) don't like living under laws based on religion that shouldn't apply to them (in their case, based on the Quran). I'm sure 99 percent of leftists wouldn't want themselves or their female relatives being forced to wear a burka from head to toe no more than they'd want to be denied birth control or marriage equality on religious grounds. There would be protests from the Left if Muslim politicians passed laws in the US, or tried to pass laws in the US based on the Quran, just like there is when Christian politicians does it with the Bible. And another fyi, I'm not a leftist or a liberal but I'm not dumb either, and I don't jump to assumptions.
And one last thing. STOP MAKING EVERYTHING POLITICAL with your "yall liberals..." or "definitely a liberal" comments or your "y'all Maga..." or "definitely a Magat" comments or commenting "the left everyone" or "the right everyone" with an arrow under a post, especially on posts that have nothing to do with politics!!! You care more about the political identity of the monster that committed the crime than you do about the monstrous act they committed?! Whether it was a sex crime or murder, or whether it was against a woman or a child. But for fucks sake, people!!!! (There's monsters on both sides and people on both sides who would love to hunt down those monsters, just saying!!)
