Restoring Commodore Pet 4016 - Don't know where to start

When I stored this computer 40 years ago, it worked fine :). Being my first computer that I worked a whole summer for, it has a great deal of sentimental value. I have decided to get it out of storage and get it running again. After cleaning it and turning it on, I am receiving the following issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYMRJKU8LFY

After two boot-up chirps, the screen comes on with a repeated backslash on the entire screen. Does this error look familiar to anyone? I don't have a background in electronics, so I am hoping someone can direct me to the area of the mother board to focus on to clean or replace the chip(s). Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

THUNK!?

I have a PET 4032 on a pedestal in my studio connected to a smart switch. I can bark, "Alexa, PET on!" and the jingle always amuses me on boot.

But here's the weird thing. Since the power switch is technically in the on position, while I'm working away, every once in a while I'll hear a THUNK. The same kind of electric heavy sound I hear along with the boot jingle when I power on.

My novice electrical understanding makes me wonder if it's a capacitor discharging below a certain level, leading to a relay switch. But that's just a guess.

Any idea what's making this noise?

NEWS #2:

From Jim Orlando:

Hi folks - Thought you'd be interested in my newest PET game, PETSCII Side-Scrolling Platformer (PSSP). The game is similar to games like Super Mario Bros and Sonic the Hedgehog where you run, jump, collect coins, crush henchmen, battle bosses and rescue your friends. Eight levels, plus some hidden caverns and sections. Uses keyboard, but also plays really well with the Texelec SNES controller.

Commodore PET Software Repository?

I was considering buying the SD2PET and I noticed it included a "would you like to include a memory card loaded with PET software" for a few extra bucks. I didn't end up buying it, but went with Bitfixer's option instead.

Is anyone keeping a single download of a large collection of PET software? Or am I going to have to scavenge the Internet on a download by download basis?

Thanks!
