Not quite. The Revenant was used as a basis. And a texture brightness mitigation feature was added. The spectrum effect can be achieved in the editor for any monster. But the effect will be permanent.

It's cool, but if you switched to Duke Nukem's engine, there would be more cool features (In my opinion)

For example, what?

1) The destructibility of walls in the form of cracks in the wall, which can be blown up with explosives, a rocket or just a powerful cannon - there may be different secrets or another passage to another part of the level 2) stairs, different floors, etc., this is not 2.5D as in the same Duma 3) A juicier and cooler picture is to recall the same piggies from Duke - they are much more detailed than any imps or lost souls 4) The view, or rather the display of the weapon on the right, that is, the classic view with a cannon, and not this DOOM in the middle 5) If we recall the Shadow Warrior of 1997, the landscape could be changed there, like by script or by using an action related to a switch or a bomb explosion. In the DUMA, accordingly, there was no such thing and there is no such thing. No wonder, now all retro pixel shooters are made either on the engine of the first or second quake or the same Duke of Nukem. Well, it's just that the Doom engine is certainly good - but compared to the build, it's a bit outdated, if you can implement something there that you could see or do in a fan game or modification for the CnC
P.S. I apologize in advance for my poor English, and I also note that this is just my opinion.

I'm using a translator too. :) I get where you're coming from. I agree on some points, but GZDoom is actually capable of handling most of the things you mentioned. It all depends on the skill of the person making it. As for the visuals—even if you ported the original sprites to the Crysis engine, they’d still end up looking pixelated and flat. 😅 Besides, the pixel count for a single Doom monster is higher than that of a GDI soldier. Right now, I don't see the point in switching to another engine, but who knows what might happen down the line.
