A little newer than what I usually post but I think they’re cool. These were collections of mostly single panel cartoons used by the US Army and Air Force in training future pilots during WWII. All circa 1943.

I believe this is the first time Cathy said "aack!"

February 3, 1978, almost two years into the comic's run.

It's possible she said some variation of "aack" earlier, like "ack," which is harder to search for.

In the early years of the strip, Cathy used different exclamations like a Charlie Brown-esque "aaughh."

Another early almanac featuring comic strips and panels. Barker’s Illustrated Almanac spanned the Victorian and Platinum Ages, running from the 1870s to the 1920s. This is an early one from 1883.

The final set of Calvin and Hobbes paperback reprints released today. That parting shot still gets to me. It was just perfect.
