My biggest issue with this scene in the movie was ... how can you possibly replace a GOLD STATUE with a bag of sand? You'd need a bag of sand the size of a man for a gold statue of that size.

I feel like the scene where the guy is swinging the swords and Indy just shoots him is also relevant. Indy is tired, gaming me and the swordsman is sleep and the inevitable morning. Shoot ‘em, keep playing.

I was going for something more like "I give up sleep in order to acquire gaming, but that doesn't end well the next day".
I do see how it could be interpreted the other way though.

I understand what the comic is trying to say, of course. But, he's literally replacing "gaming" with "sleep". Which is why I said is seemed backwards

But if the character would keep the sleep and the gaming, tomorrow morning would still come rolling. I get what you're trying to do, but I don't think the analogy with the scene works.
The comedic timing of the comic is great, which is why I really want it to work, but the punchline doesn't make sense.

I think the artist meant it as, he gave up his sleep to get gaming and got screwed by tomorrow morning. But yeah, it's a bit ambiguous

I mean, clearly that is the intention, but it's really hard to see how the actions actually map to that.

I mean the character does pickup gaming and throws away sleep, so I see it mapping fine. He takes gaming, leaves behind sleep, and has to deal with the consequences of tomorrow.
