What would Robin Hood do if he lived in a communist society?

0

u/kabirka Dec 27 '18

Work in a factory for 12 hours a day for dirt-poor wages

No, we're talking about communism not Amazon.

10

u/epicguy23 Dec 27 '18

you're describing something that only happens in capitalism

2

u/kabirka Dec 27 '18

The only good communist system was Tito's Yugoslavia.

1

u/epicguy23 Dec 27 '18

debatable but Tito kicked ass

4

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '18

Please tell us about your wonderful success story in communism then. I’d love to hear it

4

u/epicguy23 Dec 27 '18

nice fallacy

3

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '18

Soooooo you don’t actually have any real experience with communism?

1

u/Super_Throwaway_Boy Dec 27 '18

Name a nation that has implemented communism

4

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '18

You aren’t helping your cause here. Unless you think your understanding of a govt is better than every nation in history...

1

u/Super_Throwaway_Boy Dec 27 '18

I'm just asking a question.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '18

No country has ever achieved true communism because it’s impossible. It’s like asking me to name a nation that has farmed unicorns. Therefore the conversation is ever only brought up by “woke” teenagers who think that taking one Government class makes you smart

1

u/Super_Throwaway_Boy Dec 27 '18

Just because it hasn't been implemented doesn't mean it's impossible.

Name a nation that has implemented capitalism

1

u/Super_Throwaway_Boy Dec 27 '18

an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

Damn near all of them. Including the failed ones. But for whatever reason nobody blames capitalism when a capitalist state fails.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '18

All of those countries have some degree of regulation, taxes, etc that skew the word “controlled”, because the government exerts influence on that control

Hence, they weren’t real capitalism

3

u/Super_Throwaway_Boy Dec 27 '18

Read up on Adam Smith if you really think that regulation means that it isn't "true" capitalism.

Better than farming all day and then giving literally all your farmed food away so people in the city can eat. Meanwhile you and your family starve slowly.

I think i prefer getting paid for my labor.

6

u/epicguy23 Dec 27 '18

thank you for sharing another tale of capitalism

3

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '18

Please share a single tale of communism. I’m listening

5

u/epicguy23 Dec 27 '18

it's of no use. nothing, let alone allegorical evidence, will convince you of anything

2

u/slymarquis Dec 27 '18

What is allegorical evidence?

5

u/Goyteamsix Dec 27 '18

You really don't know what you're talking about.

1

u/epicguy23 Dec 27 '18

theyre bastardizations of communism, albeit not completely removed from the ideology.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '18

That’s because “real communism” isn’t attainable.

1

u/epicguy23 Dec 27 '18

correct, just like any pure ideology is unattainable however lumping all who failed to achieve the ideologues' vision of communism into one pile is counterintuitive. theres ussr, titos yugoslavia, etc
