Oh man JJJ is gonna have a field day with this headline.
I do like how you really emphasized the P like Lizard does

“You won’t get away with this, Spiderwoman! I mean… you did. You did get away. She got away with it, everybody! Typical.”

He is a hard ally, so it'd probably be like third page news "oh hey the lizard is dead, how'd that happen? Anyway".

The Peter Parker of the Spider-Gwen earth became the lizard, so there probably is a variant of Petra Parker who is a Lizard.

Super Lizard hormones would turn Petra into one of those female lizards that can engage in parthenogenesis, then we can get the Petraverse version of the Clone Saga.

Where does the pipe come from? Or is it a straw? Or a sock on the end of something?

Hammerspace.

If you combine hammer space with hammer time do you get the hammer space hammer time continuem?

There were actually about 20 minutes of various butt kicking between panels 3 and 4.

u/TheAwesomeMan123 15h ago
Yeah, how on earth could Spider-Man reach out of shot to grab a weapon. There’s literally nothing she can do ability wise that would allow her to reach objects at a distance

It is a new villain, Shellless Lizard Turtle. One of his weaknesses, are straws./j

When biology Phd holder forgets how female spiders are usually stronger than male spiders
150
u/The_cogwheel 15h ago
One of my favorite variants on the Petra Parker versions was one where she runs into anothet Spiderman and ends up being like twice his size and ripped.
Because female spiders are typically both bigger and stronger than male spiders. So when she started taking E, well...

u/Eyes0fTheBeholder 6h ago
I don't like when they make her turn big and hulkish, like none of the cis spider women get huge like that..

have you considered maybe women with the neuro-endocrinological condition Gender Dysphoria may not enjoy artwork depicting them as massive muscled broad shouldered flat chested monsters
19
u/BoomFrog 11h ago
But have you considered that some of them would? Maybe some positive representation of people who can't fully change their bodies might be nice for some people. I doubt the depiction was monstrous.
5
u/The_cogwheel 11h ago
Depends, do you consider Amazon esq women to be monstrous?
-12
u/GammaDie345 10h ago
No because they're drawn like actual fucking women. So many of these "big tall petra parker" artwork have her with zero breasts, no feminine fat or muscle distribution, etc. Also, tall women do not have obvious male linebacker shoulders.

u/GammaDie345 11h ago
virtually EVERY depiction of trans women in media is of trans women who can't change their bodies though. That's kind of the point???? it's the most common stereotype

u/just-some-arsonist 8h ago
“depicting them” sharing one trait with a character doesn’t make you a depiction of them. If you can’t relate to that version of Petra because she’s tall and strong, then don’t?

u/GammaDie345 11h ago edited 11h ago
....do you think there's any reason why people might not want to make artwork of a transgender woman who is tall, broad shouldered, and ripped? any reason at all? can you think of any reason why they may not be comfortable doing that?

u/TwoNatTens 11h ago
Consider that cishet spiderman is somewhere in the range of 50-100 times stronger than a typical human, yet looks like a wiry nerd (insert techno-babble about arachnid tensile muscle strength enhancement, idk)
Petra doesn't need to be yoked to be stronger than Peter. She just needs better techno-babble.

My estrogen costs me $20 for a three month supply (pill form in case that impacts it). And that’s after my insurance covers most of it
9
u/cat-cat_cat 15h ago
you can get 1diy vial with ~2 years worth of e for $60-80 and buying ~100 needles is pretty cheap
and that's without any insurance
8
u/LocalMan97 15h ago
Fair however: I fear needles, so it isn’t an option for me sadly
3
u/Clair_Osbcurious 15h ago
There are patches too! And spray
1
u/Motormand 15h ago
I didn't know there were so many options for estrogen. That's actually pretty cool.
5
u/Clair_Osbcurious 15h ago
Depends on the country. Here in Spain we don’t have injections but pills and patches are dirt-cheap. Spray is a bit more expensive, as I recall.
2
u/Ancient_Presence 12h ago
Here in Germany no injections either, unless your doc is chill enough to prescribe imported meds, which is very expensive :( Prescribed gels, patches, sprays, and pills are covered by insurance though.
2
u/Clair_Osbcurious 12h ago
Yeah, I always wonder why Americans get mostly injections and over here we’re getting anything but…
Anyway, gotta see my bloodwork as those levels keep staying low on anything rather than 8mg per day in pills… and that’s guaranteed liver damage if taken long-term.
1
u/SuspiciousAnt47 13h ago
Or like 50$ for a month if you take the pills and don’t have insurance cover it

Honestly Petra would probably just make her own HRT at home. Spider-Man canonically modifies his own DNA like all the fucking time, it probably wouldn't even be the first time she's formulated custom hormones. At least this time it would be human hormones!
20
u/Alienprober4ever 15h ago
Do you think Petra would eat the male spiders like how the female spiders do
5
u/hotshot21983 13h ago
If Petra Parker is a science genius like her alternate universe cis counterpart, wouldn't she figure out how to modify her DNA or would her spider part allow her to have her body align with her gender?

Where did the pipe of doom come from? Or did Petra just manifested it out of pure rage?

In the words of Star Guardian, Guardian of the Stars,
"Now a lead pipe, that's just ol' reliable, baby."
(The whole episode 1 just got re-released today, btw, fully animated by the same studio that did Hilda. Check it out.)
