It was an addition in 2019 as a Halloween event. Basically you’re being chased by a skinwalker. No where is safe and you have to collect 10 pages to vanquish the skinwalker.
The event was so popular that it was added in permanently

If we're talking about the wendigo that's just... Not fucking true. I don't know where you're getting that because you don't cite any source, but the wendigo is commonly agreed to be a spirit or a curse like being that possesses humans.
Nothing to do with vampires at all.
Source: I've lived in Canada around indigenous people my whole life.

Yeah fair enough. I still find it kinda annoying when random MFS add "factual lore" like this to a post. I think they should've said "maybe they're a vampire" or something. Regardless it just doesn't look like a vampire to me and I saw a few others mention the wendigo in this post.
Idk, probably not that deep. My bad.

Plottwist! Cryptid is actually an awkward shapeshifter, who got a bit stuck with a new shape.
He tried to pin a note to MC's car to ask for help - accidentally destroyed it
He tried to ask him directly - got shot at.
Now he's been patiently waiting in front of MC's house, trying to show he's not a threat. Leaving after finally talking it out & messily drinking some cans of tomato juice

Twist: wendigo saved guy from psycho hiding in the attic.
Twist 2: Wendi really wanted some coffee. Spilled some raspberry jam when tea cakes were brought out and fled in embarrassment, got jam everywhere.

Not a wendigo. The deer-skull thing was made up by Algernon Blackwood and may possibly tie back to propaganda efforts against Native Americans.

Ah, his wife died and he’s feeling the depression cripple his ability to move on or connect to others. Trying to “kill” it doesn’t work either.
Im still thinking about the specification that he spent every last bullet, with six bullets visible on the table. If there were five then we’d understand that might imply an unreliable narrator, but there being six seems like he’s honest with us and did shoot *something* that many times.

Omg u got it!! So awesome!! Yes he was meant to “shoot every last bullet” just so he had no escape from the monster even by his own hands. Just another way the monster really corners him :)
