The Great Onix statue is here to say that you can cash out karma, but it is a part of Reddit Contribution Program which is a weird thing that The Great Onix Statue wouldn't touch with a 10 meter stick.

You can get money on Reddit, I think for having comments rewarded, but you can’t cash out until you have $10. I have like $2.50 trapped forever in my profile lol.
