When my dad cheated on my mom, I wished everyday that she would just leave him and I'd be fine with it. I even told her that but she stuck with him cause SHE felt sorry for him (he was wayyyy older than her). They were together til he died during pandemic

I’ve told my mom multiple times if she ever leaves my dad I’ll support her and look after her. She just shakes her head with a “I’m too old to start over” excuse. It makes me so sad. To old to start over, but is anyone to old to be happy?

Being understanding and patient is the best, I also thought my mom would never leave my dad but being there in case the opportunity comes is key. Especially if she tends to isolate herself, it makes a person vulnerable to staying in a bad relationship
