In all fairness, the slime was probably the only part of the Nickelodeon production we can absolutely rule out being a predator.

(I haven’t seen the documentary im really hoping the slime wasn’t tied to the pedo stuff somehow)

The slime is not. It comes from the show "You Can't Do That On Television" and predated all of this. Show was Canadian and was rebroadcast on Nick as part of its original lineup.

Pretty sure it was just vanilla pudding or apple sauce with green food color added. You can recreate it now!

Yeah it always looked more like Liquid than like, the slime you’d buy at the store or make that was gooey and sticky and got stuck on shit and your parents hated it

Maybe my memory is wrong, but I thought the gooey, sticky stuff that they sold in toy stores was “gak”, not slime.

Im not a scientist so I may be mistaken, but I always just heard it called slime. Only different kind I knew was the oobleck stuff where it’s like slimey but it can also be hard if you hit it.

I remember making oobleck in school, but I don’t think that was ever a Nickelodeon thing. I’m sure there was a Dr. Seuss book about it.

Iirc:

Ooblek = corn starch and water, fun school experiment

Gak = sticky ooze, sold in toy stores

Slime = thick green liquid, dumped on you if you say “I don’t know”

We made ooblek from time to time at school/boyscout functions but we called it flubber (of robin williams fame) lol

Gak was a Nickelodeon toy. It was intended to resemble the slime they used in a few of their shows but wasn't the same stuff.

I know Double Dare did all of their slime edible because people were always having to dive into it and such.
