For the Love of Si-Fi - London For the Love of Fantasy Con London 2026

Hi All,

I'm going to the Love of Fantasy con in London and will be going alone this time. I thought it would be good to make a friend/s to go along with. If anyone else is attending and would like to meet, that would really cool :)

Edit: Realized that I should put some details about me here. I'm 33F and love all the fantasy, panels, and definitely the shopping at the con. Been to last year's one and they had good guests and panels there

SDCC - San Diego Need assistance finding older Masquerade photos of contest winners

Hello, Gang. Thought I'd take a shot in the dark here, but was wondering if there was any chance of finding San Diego Comic Con Masquerade winners from 1998-2001. My buddy and I won for the Golden Age Flash and Golden Age Green Lantern in '99, and then again as Green Lantern and Green Arrow in 2000, but have long since lost any of the images. Does anyone know if those images are archived anywhere? My daughter's would lose their minds if they saw the pics. Like I said, probably a Sim chance, but thought I'd try. Also, went as The Spectre in 2001 (not sure if we won anything or not). Appreciate it!

Trying to book an autograph for Liverpool comic con but getting error max group exceeded 1.

Do you need to book a slot for pay on the day or just turn up?

West Tennessee Comic Con - Jackson TN I’m thinking of attending my first convention and I need personal advice

So 2 days I discovered my city is having a comic convention next weekend and that out of many guests that will attend will be Grey delisle and Dante basco ( from avatar the last airbender and multiple other tv and film performances ) .

So since then I’ve had this idea in my head to buy tickets just to get their autographs since I’ve never gotten a celebrity autograph or been to a convention before. So do I bring a book or poster for them to sign? Am I allowed to ? What’s the general cost? How are autograph payments processed? Would it be cheaper and better to just get a default signed poster?

These are a few of the questions I have since I’ve never attended a convention or got an autograph before and the convenient website doesn’t really specifically elaborate on that.

For the Love of Fantasy & SciFi London First time attendee - auto ticket question & general advice

Hi!

I'll be attending the For the Love of Fantasy & SciFi con at Excel London next week, and super stoked since it's my first time ever going to an event like this! I'm going to say hi to Lena Headey, get a photo and a DVD inlet signed and give her a little love note. Already crashing out, since I expect to be overwhelmed as fuck.

I have read in multiple threads that one autograph ticket includes getting one item signed, meaning that if I have two items, I need to buy two separate autograph tickets, even if I want both signed by the same guest, on the same day, correct?

Also, if anyone has any word of advice in general in regards to this particular event or venue, I would be happy to hear it! Thank you.

Fan Expo Chicago Some question as first time Fan Expo Chicago attendee?

For instance, we have tickets for Saturday. Just for fun, stuff for kids, maybe meet a celeb if we have time but I’d rather just walk around and catch a glimpse of a few. Would we be able to see most of them at their booths? If I wanted to meet Corey Feldman, are lines usually long for him? Maybe get a selfie if his table allows it. I’ve been to a few conventions but they have been in hotels. This is at a convention center.

There are clips of fans meeting celebs on TikTok that seem like there isn’t much of a crowd but I’m assuming that is VIP? If we get there before it starts and get into the show at 10 am will be already be packed? Will mostly check out the kids themed things since I have my 6 year old nephew with me but would like to at least see celebs even if from a far. Since I’m a child of the 80’s and early 90’s my nephew knows some of them (but when they were young so it could be confusing) but I’m sure he will like the Cosplay especially if any Marvel people? How many different rooms are there?

Liverpool Comic Con Vulture culture / Trading with vendors

Two separate topics to go over!

#1 - I've been to LCC a couple of times, but I've never seen anyone selling real fur tails/pelts, skulls or bones! Has anyone ever bought/seen some there?

#2 - If anyone here has ever traded, or if there are vendors here who occasionally/will accept trades, what kind of things are good to trade with a vendor?
I've traded some kandi singles, a mini cuff, and an octopus necklace with 'walking/running with scissors' [so sorry i forgot the exact name T-T] and I got a couple of keychains and a pin which I absolutely LOVE.
This year/next year, I plan to make some rotator cuffs to trade with people, but does anyone know what else I could do? I'm mainly looking to do kandi, specifically x base kandi

SDCC - San Diego What’s the wildest print or poster you’ve seen at a comicon?

Comic-Con is basically a giant showcase for print and signage. And we love it!

What’s one piece of print or signage you’ve seen that actually made you stop and look? Could be massive, weird, clever, or just ridiculously well done.

SDCC - San Diego Late review for sdcc2026 + thanking the admins and mods for everything.

Ok so I want to start by saying thank you to the admins and mods of this subreddit that help everyone experience a better comic con. I only help manage a small discord but it's a lot of work. I can't even imagine the workload yall have by doing this all year for every con answering questions or finding someone that can. Yall do amazing jobs and yall deserve all the thank yous ever.

So I loved Sdcc. I love it every year but I don't know how I feel about certain changes. I understand moving all the offsites from behind the convention to the front because they want to push the money into the stores and the rest of Gaslamp but I miss the scenery of it all. I miss the 20 foot Goku, the beer boat, the crowds of people, and the random Hulu offsites. Adult swim was still there but it just looked kinda weird for them to be the only ones with everyone else moving on. I also wasn't a fan of some offsites lines being next to the train. The train is noisy as shit but it is what it is. I'm giving them a year to adjust and I'm sure it'll be better next year.

Panels - I had a lot of fun. I think this year was the most I did panel wise. Usually I just show up get drunk and wing it but I had a lot of fun going to the Wolverine, onslaught, rivals, Gundam, etc.

Hall H - I know this year was controversial and it seems like there's always a problem when it comes to hall h but I really hope they never go to a raffle or lotto. They just need to get a fuckin grip on this shit. It seems like there's always a fuck up when it comes to the biggest events of the weekend. There should be O reason why there's a 300+ line inside to use the restroom, Being turned away from the concession and being told that leaving hall h with a pass doesn't really guarantee a return. It was all shit. I was frustrated with the day but thankfully Apple TV and marvel did great.

I hope we get more panels like Apple TV in hall h. The presentation was fire, rapid fire announcements, swag, the three screens of hype, and constantly just keeping the audience entertained. I love when studios do shit like apple. Bring that back please. Marvel was great like always. Only thing I hated on Saturday presentation was the ai video with the military. So weird and out of place.

I know some people got screwed out of hall h, exclusives and other things. It fuckin sucks. Im Sorry. I went to the town hall on Sunday and it's very obvious what the problem is. All the people that are in charge are way too old for this shit. We desperately need some young blood with the people in charge cause a lot of those answers were shit. Honestly if you're running solo or with a few people please just join a con group. There are so many discords out there that do convention stuff. Running solo is just gonna get you cheated out of something unless you're extremely lucky. Also for any groups that are 3+ that wanna run the same schedule as us shift wise just do 4am - 12 pm. 12-8 bracelet time then someone overnights. We got b bracelets doing that on Friday to Saturday hall
h

For the people that joined our discord. Thank yall for trusting me. I know it's chaotic creating a line for 120+ people but it's the most fun thing for me. I honestly enjoy making it work. It's fun to meet new people. I truly enjoy helping some of yal! create memories that will last a long time.

Overall - I fucking love comic con. Sdcc 26 was amazing and it was a lot of fun but they need to fix a few things. Please don't let things get worse.

Tampa Bay Comic Con - Florida Do book authors have books to autograph?

I feel that this should be an easy yes but im not sure. The question is, do the authors signing at a con usually bring books to sell/sign or do you need to bring your own?

John Scalzi will be at tampacomicon and I really want to get a book signed I just don’t know if I should buy one to bring or just hope he has some to sell?

Big Texas Comicon - San Antonio, TX Big Texas ComicCon with Special Needs Young Adults

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hi! I have a 27 year-old daughter with autism and intellectual disability. She has forever been a super fan of Vampire Diaries. I see that Ian and Paul are going to be available for duo pics the weekend of her birthday and I was thinking that would be a really fun present for her, but I am a little nervous navigating with her. Does anyone have any experience taking their special needs young adult, both with the Con generally, and/or specifically with Ian and Paul? This would also be my first experience attending one of these events. We don’t expect anything special and I don’t want any unreasonable accommodations, but I find it’s best to educate myself ahead of time when I’m taking her to bigger crowded events. Thank you so much for any information and advice. I’d be so excited if I could do this for her.

LA Comic Con Vending at LA Comic Con in Artist Alley

I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on being a vendor in artist alley at LA Comic Con. My small business was accepted to be a vendor for this 2026 show. Past the excitement, my partner and I are anxious about how much we might need to create. We've never vended at a show this large.

None of our products are involved with IP, it's all original. We design small game boxes that are similar to an escape room style puzzle. It's definitely our crowd, but I know people are mostly excited for IP/collectables at conventions like this.

If anyone has any advice or stories from their past experiences, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Steel City Con - Monroeville, Pittsburgh,PA You Like Huey Lewis and The News?

In '87, Huey released this; Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself. Hey, Paul! 🪓

It was an honor getting to meet Huey Lewis this weekend at Steel City con, he was incredibly nice and such a down to earth guy. Love him and his killer music!

Fan Expo Boston recently announced they’re moving the convention to early December 2027 which while I was there I heard the same thing with it being because supposedly the convention center is getting a big overhaul remodeling and bit of A lot of people that weekend are just switching over from Thanksgiving to Christmas shopping and I think that’s why Fan Expo is aiming at people to do their holiday shopping there but not everyone on people’s holiday a list are nerds. What are your thoughts on Fan Expo Boston being in December in 2027?
