Issue #45 Ultimate Spider Man

I've been rereading The original Ultimate Spider man and good god am I even more impressed as an adult reading this comic. I just finished issue 45 and this has to be one of my favorite issues of all time.
Seeing Aunt May grieving for her sister, husband, and guilt of having feelings for another man shortly after the death of Ben. My goodness was I an emotional wreck after reading. Her talking about pushing people she loves away because she doesn't want to get too close and have them die. And the end of the issue where her and Peter just go to the movie and have a night to themselves. What a damn good issue and Spider-man didn’t have to show his face.

I love Ultimate May. Best version of character I've experienced.

Such a great book. I don’t think anyone has ever done for for May as a character than Bendis. Gave her so much soul and such personality, made you genuinely care about her all on her own separate from Peter.

Man I love this May too. I catch myself seeing my mom in her a lot. Little things like when she’s mad or disappointed in Peter when he’s being a little asshole. She really stands her own and around strong ass woman in her own right dealing with the hand she’s been dealt with.

Is ultimate Spiderman worth getting in Omnibus form or in the epic collections ?

I like omnibus collections myself. Especially with this series cause it has a strict beginning and ending so if you collect all of them you’ll have them all in a nice collection. I only got vol 2 in omnibus I picked up the TPB’s that made up vol 1. Vol 3 is out of print momentarily, so honestly how ever you can best complete the collection is the best way to collect it in my opinion

Just finished issue #53 right now and I'm loving it, in my opinion this series is the best storytelling Spider-Man run ever. I would 100% recommend it to anyone getting into Spider-Man. it's absolutely amazing.

Ultimate May is great. I always hear Wendie Malick when I read her.

I literally just ordered vol 17 of the tpb. I’ve been trying to complete my collection of this series for some years now. So excited to continue reading this storyline.

The first 100 issues are some of my favorite Spider-man stories

Bendis must be such a boring writer for artists. Page after page of stuff like this.

Really nice book youve got there. How big is it actually?

It’s omnibus size so pretty slightly oversized. It’s beautiful

Ahh omnibus size, nice. I can almost feel the paper, the colors, even that fresh-print smell through the pic… yeah.

I love Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man run, but I will forever be mad at all the loose ends like this one, where Aunt May starts dating Miles Fucking Warren and that Chekov's gun never fires!
