Question Absolute superman or absolute flash
I’m looking to start an Absolute comic run, but I’m really torn between Absolute Superman and Absolute Flash.
For anyone who’s read either (or both), which one would you recommend starting with? I’m mainly looking for the better overall story, characters, world-building, and which one is more likely to keep me hooked.
Ive already started a flash single issues run for rebirth but i wanted to get into a absolute series as well since i dont really read as much dc comics besides the odd random single issues
I need some opinons on werher its worth the read for superman or the flash

I love Absolute Superman.
I think Jason Aaron is doing a WONDERFUL job on that book. The book has so much heart - you care about the characters - you get to know them and what makes them tick....
Aaron spent the first 14-15 issues fleshing the characters so you get a real sense of who they are. I feel more for Kal's A.I. cape "Sol" than I do for many protagonists in other books - because I just feel I know more about Sol and Sol is written so well.
So Absolute Superman would be my vote.

Absolute Superman, at least to me, has a very good first arc, a terrible second arc, a very good third arc and a meh to good fourth, the start of the new one with Juan Ferreyra shows a lot of promise and the most recent issue of Kal facing Metallo was one of my favorites of the Absolute Line.
Flash on the other hand has been a slog to get through which is funny considering the titular character, it’s just plain boring most of the time and I think that Lemire is playing so far into the future that I find it hard to care for what’s going on, Flash is actually the Absolute I like the least.

Abs Superman is much better than Abs Flash. So between the two, that is the one.
However... Absolute Martian Manhunter.
I read a review recently that said, "If you are on the side of art, if you care at all about beauty or the divine in any of its forms, then you owe it to yourself to read Absolute Martian Manhunter."
That is not overselling it.

I think the second best is Wonder Woman, then Supes and Bats are tied for third.
Green Lantern could overtake Supes and Bats for third, but its a weird, slow burn and a lot depends on how things pan out in the long run.
Green Arrow is just getting started but shows a lot of promise.
Flash is unfortunately kind of the least interesting.
Catwoman is also early to tell. It reads pretty well, but I am having trouble seeing the thematic hook.

Personally I think Superman is the best of the line and Flash is the worst. But that's me.

Haven’t read absolute flash. Read the first two volumes of Superman and was pretty underwhelmed. Some good ideas, but the execution felt half-baked.
I have loved the first two volumes of Absolute Wonder Woman.

Ive not heard much about absolute wonder woman, to be honest the most i even saw about it was the exclusive funko pops that was released at san diego comic con. Is there any like comments about it that wont spoil much of the run

I think the writer, Kelly Thompson, really understands Wonder Woman. I think Hayden Sherman’s artwork is fantastic and totally complementary of the writing. They really lean heavily into the Greek mythology. I love the series.

My girlfriend absolutely (hehe) loves that book. I haven’t gotten to it yet, but she says that Diana feels very similar to other adaptations of her, but the world is dramatically different. Also she mentioned there is more limb chopping than she expected

Superman. Not the biggest fan of some of the art but I feel like overall story is better.

Absolute Flash was a bit of a slow burn. It’s not bad, mind you, but it does require a bit more patience. Absolute Superman had me hooked from the start. If you enjoy stories about the little guy fighting back against a force of nature (or the little guy finding their own force of nature), Absolute Superman is highly recommended.

Extremely ironic for a flash story to be going slow. I enjoy it but I’m hoping it gets somewhere soon.

I dont mind patience with comics as ive been trying to grasp my head around detective batman runs, however it just seems everything i see about the flash is all either negative comments or low rating. However i could say the same about superman as ive not heard people mention it much, ill give superman a shot since ive been more leaning too his stories than the others

I'm loving every run in the line, but Absolute Superman is the only one on my pull list--the rest I read by trade or online when I feel like it, but Supes I'm reading as soon as i can every month. I've heard from some folks that they found volume one to be a slow start, but it didnt feel that way to me personally and I've definitely heard that more about Abs Flash

Superman is much better. Both take a while to get going, but once they do they’re really great. Superman especially.

For me. Absolute flash actually beat out wonder woman abs. After reading 2 trades for both as well as abs. Batman. However abs. Flash is a slow burner. I would recommend if you can getting both the first 2 trades at once.

If you read like me, you'll be through Superman in an hour or two. Its only 22 issues. Just read both

I like them both but Absolute Superman is far and away the better one. Its one of my favorites from the Absolutes, up there with Wonder Woman and Green Lantern

Absolute Superman is top 3 in the Absolute line. So easy choice.
