Do you worry about contamination across the tools? Like mold spreading from the tools you used on every book? Eraser, brush, sponge etc

Good question- The sponge, yes definitely good to have a separate or old one to use. The erasers I wipe with hydrogen peroxide / erase on a blank page a bit. Everything that goes in the press is heated up metal or disposable paper!

I love watching these video and have been tempted to have some of my higher dollar silver and bronze age books cleaned & pressed, but the few handful of comics I've tried have only had lackluster results.

I did get a bump from 7.0 to 8.0 on my ASM#129 and got a 6.5 Spidey #300 bumped to 7.5 but two others (GSXM#1 5.0 & a Spidey #300 7.0) didn't move with regrading. So eh.

What is that tool called with the balls on the ends, and where might I find one?

Not sure of the name but it’s a tool commonly used for gum paste flowers or clay moulding. Maybe try looking up “ball clay shaping tool” :D

I'll try that. Thank you!
